Perhaps I am wrong but I think only the low volume LaFerrari from Maranello had the flip-up doors... So no "rolling all these Ferrari out the door next door"...
It seems that Maserati/MCA has no understand that ignoring their own development in favour of saving the -more or less- still sick Alfa Romeo resulted in an almost catastrophy in Modena. The MC20 came 2 minutes before 12 o`clock... And all these business carriers Signor Macchionne took on the road could not be the future of this great manufacturer (here in Germany Maserati sold 43% less cars in 2020 than in 2019 while Ferrari sold over 30% more this year...). So I hope they understood the lesson. Future will tell....
The Alfieri was shown in Pebble in 2014. I personally saw people on their knees in front of it, asking where they could get this car!
Everyone has different taste. I have a 458 Spider and my wife has a Maserati Granturismo Convertible (plus a couple BMWs, Mercedes and a JCW Mini). She took one look at the MC20 and told me that I needed to order one for her. I am in full agreement with her. It looks great to me (but I'm hoping for better colors being released).
the Ferrari built 60 degree 3.0 TT V6 that Maserati uses in most of their cars sounds great, it a 90 degree V6 that sounds like .......
I absolutely love the MC20---the perfect successor to the still amazing Bora. Color choices, Tubi exhaust options will all appear in a month or two. Stop obsessing about minutia, enjoy this stunning future classic today!
We were referring to the engines in the Ghibli not the MC20. Yes the MC20 is nice, but not that Italian. Looks alot like a Porsche 918 in shape with detail changes. The Bora looks alot like a Iguana without the vents and T33 wheels.
Whatever for? Ferrari ended up getting the much more beautiful sister, the Alfieri, that wasn't enough? It's a journeyman looking car which I expect is well made and will be way faster than anyone really needs so it will be a hot got to have car for a while anyway. Then the usual carping will begin. It weighs 400 lbs less than my ancient Bora and has double the HP and torque so god knows it will be incredibly fast. I would have thought it could be even lighter but this is still fantastic. I bet the Bora is still a better GT. They didn't show the front compartment so I'm guessing that rear is the only luggage space. With a Bora you have front and rear for long trips and much prettier looking vehicle. But this will work much better and hopefully has better legroom! The Bora has a GD stiff chassis as well but no sports racer like this. Maserati will have other GT cars. The Bora never sold well as a GT . People wanted sporty, mid engine cars back then. I'll still pine for the looks of the Alfieri ... and will probably buy a used Alfa 4C as this is out of my league now. Have fun with them and I hope the race well!
Unfortunately true from a technological standpoint. They've been forever playing catch up since I became acquainted with the marque in 1984. The corporate resources of the Germans are just too vast. But the one area where the Italians can have a big edge is in styling. This one doesn't do that IMHO. They also always seem to handle well. Let's see how the specs pan out on the track because it's mostly about bragging rights now with this sort of a car
The Bora is not hideous Just assuming you are referring to the Maserati because the Iquana is far from hideous. They even used it as a base for the rather generic Citroen Maserati's
Here is what it looks like from a good angle. Better than the Maserati's that copied it!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Who copied what? Both are Giugiaro. Only one became a practical production car with a powerful V8 and that influenced required modifications. You're pushing a vaporware vehicle. Give it up already.
I think the MC20 is a home run. At this point, I'm numb to all the modern performance numbers, Every car is more than I can handle. Can't wait to see it in real life.
When the dust settles and all the irrelevant noise fades, this is the only comment that shall be remembered! Thanks.
