    Hi all,

My TR is fitted with a Toad Ai600 immobiliser. Normally I use the left button to turn the immobiliser off and the right button to lock / unlock the vehicle.

Today I had to disconnect the battery briefly and now the car won’t start. Pressing the left button doesn’t turn off the immobiliser and the engine is dead when I turn the key. Pressing the right button will allow me to crank the engine, but it doesn’t fire (assume fuel pump is immobilised).

Does anyone know how to reset it? I’m supposed to be taking the car for a video shoot first thing tomorrow morning…

Thanks so much for your quick and helpful reply. I’ve tried doing that, but no luck. I have the older 600 version, for which I can’t find a manual online, and the car didn’t come with the PIN or a tag key…

Can you replace the battery on the remote? You only have one remote? Saw some comments that the manual is similar.
I think you need the pin to get the tag keys so long term it might be better to remove / disable it.

I have an old Cobra system and the remote at times takes several button pushes before it registers. But I have the tag keys as backup.

So it doesn't crank at all? Normally it should crank but not start if it's immobilized.

The right button works as lock/unlock and a remote start?

How did you disconnect the battery?

Normally, if you just turn the ignition key, nothing happens. But pressing left button turns off the immobiliser for about 10 secs and allows the car to be started. Currently, pressing the left button does nothing.

Pressing the right button normally locks / unlocks the car and also disables the immobiliser for a brief period. Currently, pressing the right button locks / unlocks the car and allows me to crank the engine, but the engine doesn’t start. I suspect the immobiliser has cut power to the fuel pump.

I disconnected the battery accidentally. The -ve cable was a bit loose.

Do you normally get any sort of audible or visual confirmation from the immobilizer when you arm/disarm it?

If you check the manual above there are some notes about that.

    I would in this order:

    Check all fuses.

Disable the car battery from the on/off switch.

Remove the battery from the remote.

    Enable the car battery switch.

Change the battery in the remote.

    Wait about 30 sec.

    Try the remote.

If that doesn't work, wait for Steve Magnusson to help you :)

Did as you suggested, but unfortunately the problem remains. I think I’m going to have to speak to TOAD on Monday. Thanks so much for all your help.

Here's an installation pdf for the 606. Not sure how much crosses over to your system but it might provide some ideas - I'd read it all because
there are quite a few options.
If there's any way to get the pin code from the prior owner or somewhere in the docs that would give you a way out in an emergency.

Big thanks to everyone who contributed. In the end, the car went to a specialist auto alarm technician, who removed the TOAD but found the car still wouldn’t start. So it got trailered to a supercar specialist, who spent two days tracing the issue. Apparently there was a cut in a non-standard, additional starter motor wire that needed to be bridged, either by the TOAD or by reconnection, which is what happened. All in all, a very expensive job, but one that needed doing.
