Is that the year or the car, or the money invested in the car? J/k

    Yes and no.

If I ordered a 458 Italia, the first option would be the shields. When I find my Mondial Coupe, it won't have 'em. Guess what I'm saying is if it is available from the factory, yes. If not, no.

    IMHO

Do you like a tattoo on a beautiful nude woman? Same question, same answer in my opinion. It's not for me.

"No" from here too. Plus the way they stick out, they disturb the air flow into the engine and reduce the power output. ;)

But what if the tattoo on the woman is that of the Scuderia Ferrari shield?

    ;)

    Interesting perspectives here guys.
Enzo Ferrari thought the Scuderia Shield was important enough to put on his race cars when he first started that he used it for the company's logo. Whether its marketing genius or branding, its super cool and distinguishes the car from any other. Ralph Lauren's Polo did the same thing and build an empire. Even the 2012 Ferrari car line-up all has wing shields. So IMO the shields are a nice inexpensive way to upgrade an older Ferrari. :~)

I like the shields, IMO I quite like the stick on decals as they are a thinner alternative to the solid shield. I put the stick one on my 355 gts and have thought about placing on the mondialt but not 100 % sure exactly where to place them.

I have 2 sets of high quality shields, one smaller than the other and i don't like how mine sticks out at the bottom so i may switch to the smaller versions to have less protrusion

its funny though, i de badged my E55, leaving just the emblem on the trunk, so some cars look good with logos and imo some don't

Shields and tattoos are both good; like real estate, location is important.

Agreed - they stuck out on your car. I love them on mine - maybe it's a color thing?

I don't have any on mine and I don't plan on adding any but if I had to buy car that came with them I would not say no. I think they look good but it would have to be up to the owner, I would get them stock on a more recent car.

I totally agree. Scuderia shields are for race cars. I admit tey can look good on GTs, but from an historic point of view they're incorrect, so I say no even on modern cars that have Scuderia shields as original optional. Scuderia shields - among GTs - for me are ok only for "special series" like 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo or for Challenge and Scuderia versions.
Moreover Mondials didn't have Scuderia shields original optional, so it's a double no: in my opinion a Ferrari - every Ferrari - has to stay fully original.
But it's just my opinion, of course.

    Do you track it?

If yes then sheilds are acceptable IMO otherwise not. Sheilds were originally for race cars ... now for wankers. Everybody already knows its a Ferrari and if they don't who cares.

If I were to track my Mondi, the last thing I would do would be to put a scuderia shield on it. The point of a track car is to go on a weight loss program and tweak engine for more power. The rear seats, belts, and carpets, spare tires and tools would come out. Its funny how Ferrari and Porsche does this and charge people thousands more for less!

A small shield is not tacky or garish. It's your car, do as you like. Best bet maybe use a magnetic one so you can change your mind easily?
