Image Unavailable, Please Login I caught this little booger making his winter nest. Luckily I had to go under the panel to look at something. Leaving the hood popped open for the battery tender invites this.
I re-routed mine into the wheel well area to hopefully avoid a repeat.

Unfortunately, they are very enterprising and can squeeze thru about a 1/8" gap as their skull and frame are essentially flat. Also, the grill opening. Best to put out traps or get a feral cat to guard the garage this winter.

I actually have mouse traps all over the garage. Mine may be chipmunks which I see a lot of. They aren’t taking the bait !

A previous owner of my 550 had to have the engine rebuilt after a rodent made a nest on the cambelt which made it jump a few teeth when he started it up, causing the valves to hit the pistons and resultant carnage.

I had a rodent eat through my harness on my old '64 International Scout 80. What a pain in the butt to fix. Someone mentioned if you leave the hood up they are much less likely to build a nest.

    Dryer sheets Skipp.

They go in the tail pipes, trunk, engine, frunk, under the seats, and on top of the wheels/in arches. Keeps em at bay.

They are more exposed. They like enclosed spaces they can hide in like behind the batch board on the Dino.

Nothing short of a sealed enclosure works!! Better put your car in one before it disappears in the night!! Don't get the Carcoon zippers are a nightmare and fail to often. I bought one from UK with Velcro on the bottom, works the best. Good Luck.

Along with traps, mothballs etc, I leave an open box of Kleenex tissue on the floor of my old cars and travel trailers. Mice will prefer to make a nest out of the Kleenex rather than towels, cushions, headliners, wires and such. Also, if you see the tissue chewed at the box, you will know that the critters have made a nest somewhere in the vehicle. This method has saved me from permanent damage more than once. Fred

I was talking to a tech yesterday who owns a 12K mile 74 Pantera and he keeps it in a building behind he shop. I asked about Mice and he said he puts a couple packs of Mice Magic in the car. It's a repellent. I'm searching now as I need something for my attic before they chew thru wires and burn my house down.

Skipp - looking forward to your review. Seems like lots of different view points if these work or not. I would need an electrician to install some outlets in my attic to use this as it cannot penetrate walls. I downloaded an iphone app a few months back and when I hear mice in the attic, I turn it on (people and animals can hear it - you should see my cats LOL) but it does seem to work to stop the scratching in the attic.

I’ll certainly let you guys know if it works. I’ve got a 3.5 car garage and will install two of these things in that area. Fingers crossed.

I would take it into a pet store and plug it in near the feeder mice (for snakes) and see what happens! I bet one of the employees would want to see what happens too.

I wondered why I had very few mice this year, or worse, rats like I had last year. Today I saw a mink wander into my woodshed. It appears that it is living there for the moment. I hope it stays all winter. I love those vicious killers of rodents! Fred

Kind of like a sacrificial zinc on a boat or water heater, I keep the Dino up on the lift and the sacrificial BugEye under it as a decoy for any garage vermin I might host.
