Is it ok to run 265/35/18's on the rear and 235/40/18's front? I cant find any 265/40's locally in my state.

I've shipped in 100% of my tires in the last 15 years. Tire rack, discount tire direct, heck even Walmart and Amazon.
Obviously 265 40 18 is stock size. But there are a ton of us that run 285 35 18 and prefer them. I am one of those

There are a lot of good tires out there. Bridgestone SO4, Continental extreme DW kumo PS 91 etc. I've run all of those and a few others, they are all good tires.
By far the best all-around tire is the Michelin pilot super sport or PS4.

I guess the best way to sum it up, some tires excel in one category while sacrificing another. Somehow the michelins seem to be the best in every category in one tire. Wear, traction, wet traction, comfort, noise.

I run Extreme DW's, they're outstanding, especially in the rain. Here's me placing 5th overall and 1st in class at a local autox on them:

Only thing I don't like is they don't give good feel under braking, it's hard to tell when they're locking up until you feel the pedal start pulsing. They do have enough grip to fry the brakes after 2-3 laps, though. Here's me having to bail into 'b!tch' at VIR South after I cooked them, I was pushing about as hard as I could on the pedal and it just wasn't slowing down.

I have used Continental Extreme Contact DW on a couple cars for which Michelin Pilot Super Sports were not available in the right size. Happy with them, but the Michelins are the best. Running Michelin PSSs on my F355.

Tried a new tire recently: Nitto NT05. 235x40x18 front and 285x35x18 back. Pretty sticky. Tread wear 200 I believe. Very affordable. Got them at America's Tire.

I got quoted Michelin ps4 275/35/18 tires year 2016 brand new old stock. Are these ok to use? New michelins now only come in 265/35/18 which is a bit smaller in diameter

For diameter sake, you're either going to need the 265/40 or the 285/35.
Those 275/35 are going to have to short of a sidewall

I'm showing the 285/35R18 michelin's are in stock at pretty much every place I've checked

Yes managed to find 285/35/18s in Michelin and also Pirelli P Zero.

Then the tire guy recommended me Zestino Gredge 07r which is almost half the price of the other two!!! Never heard of it... Did a quick google search and saw some food reviews. Its apparently a M compound semi slick tread wear 240. I know nothing about tires tho...

Those tires are made in China, they can be hit or miss.
One time I put some Achilles on my wife's Yukon. They had great reviews.
Couldn't ever get them to balance, turn out the tread was separating on three of them. Took them off after about 1,200 mi, put on bridgestones. Lesson learned

Other than that time, I always just stick with the regulars. Michelin, Bridgestone, kumho, falken, Yokohama, Goodyear etc

    .

FYI, I recently put tires on my Cayman. Bought the tired from Tire Rack. I decided to try their mounting service. They send out a van with tire balancing machines to your home. First and last thing the do are to walk around the car and tale a picture of each wheel before they start and after they finish. $100 to mount and balance. No BS extra $5/wheel for tire pressure monitor service. Not road force balancing but I've since had the Cayman above 100 mph and no sign of any imbalance. And nothing extra for tire disposal. Torque wheels to manufactures spec. Based on my experience, highly recommended. Not to mention you get to be right there while they do it.

Tire installations have always been frustrating, I'm very particular about rim damage, I would always seek out the most reputable shops, and the managers would always have their best tech handle it.
Even so, I always seem to get some kind of damage regardless. I'm also very non-confrontational, so I would just Not say anything and get bitter lol
I end up buying my own tire machine and balancer lol. Never scratched a rim since!

Generally I think I run 34 up front 32 in the back.
On track days or autocross, I'll drop it to about 32 up front and 28 in the rear

I just realised the tire shop sold me XL tires front but SL tires rear... Any issue?
