That's a neat product. Is it realistic?
I read the latest F1 simulators are incredible.
I've never seen one but I have used United
727 and 777 sims in Denver.
Maybe getting an xbox would keep me out of jail.
Doing realistic physics is a pretty tall order for a commercial product however.
    And how does it sound?!

Doubt it, it's just a simple controller for consoles not sure if it will work on PC but it seems designed for Forza 4 on Xbox 360

If you are after high fidelity realism then look into the G27 or Fanatec porsche line of 1:1 scale wheels, pricey yes but if you are a sim freak like me then worth every penny when paired with a decent simulator such as Rfactor, GTR, iRacing etc

I wouldn't recommend it if you want a good sim racing experience. But I don't know of many wheels for the 360 that are good so I guess you have to go with it. Looks nice though.

It's really not a good simulator wheel.

it's expensive because there's a Ferrari sticker on the wheel.

    best sim experience = thrustmaster t500 + PS3 + Gran Turismo 5

buddy of mine has a super nice racing sim cockpit and I was playing GT5 with his thrustmaster and GT5 and it was a very good experience.

It isn't as much as some of the other ones out there, so it's worth the shot. They say it's going to be $90, but it is pretty plasicky looking to me. I have never had a steering wheel, but it should be a nice first one.

That sounds great. I live in MI and WI...I'd be willing to spend $1-2k to help pass the winters. I read about a new wheel that is coming out, not sure of the brand.

Hmm. Is it the Formula 1 looking wheel by thrustmasters? not sure what it's called

but if I were you I'd get the t500-rs by thrustmasters. it's freaking unbelievable. the force feedback and the wheel itself feels very realistic. Here's a very thorough review by them. InsideSimRacing does awesome reviews and they've definitely helped me out picking some nice racing titles. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkgxRNQ7F6g&feature=channel_video_title[/ame]

If you want a wheel with a stick shift then look into the Logitech G27 or a Porsche Fanatec wheel. top 3 videos review the porsche wheel http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=porsche+fanatec+wheel&aq=0&oq=porsche+fanat

the thrustmaster is good, but not at the level of the fanatec range (911 GT2 or GT3RS with ClubSport pedals). Biggest problem with Logitech or Thrustmaster being the braking pedal, fanatec are the only one not using a potentiometer but a pressure load sensor. And on the top, fanatec is cheaper because of their direct model.

On which sim sw is the best.... clearly iRacing on PC (best car physics modelling). GT5 on PS3 also very good, but it is still more of an arcade game.

Anyway... both of the sim above are still very far from the real thing..... but still useful to learn a track.

Now here is a good combination: http://www.virtualr.net/ferrari-f1-wheel-rim-for-thrustmaster-t500-rs-unveiled/

A Ferrari F1 Wheel on one of the best (consumer level) steering wheels on the market. A very cool idea.

I think they they may have gotten the replaceable wheel concept from us actually. We were the first to have that a couple of years ago. Kinda flattering that our ideas trickle down to the consumer level eventually.

T500RS is definitely the best wheel you can get right now. I have one and its truly amazing. If you're looking for a cheaper solution, the Driving Force GT isn't a bad choice either. Just not as engaging and realistic.
