Since I have everything apart I figure no better time to methodically go through all the throttle bodies and get them balanced properly or at least verify.

That said I want to make sure that the baseline is correct. The WSM mentions .02-.05 gap for the throttle plate as the proper tolerance (that's like a sheet of paper or less) and then references adjusting the lever positions to achieve the setting. How is this properly achieved? Is it performed with the adjustment screw/stops? Or is it done as part of the throttle assembly? I sense it's the latter as they want you to back off striker screw 6 completely during the procedure and they elude to it's performed prior to assembly of the throttle body. I haven't exhaustively looked but I think some of mine are closing completely.

I'm taking nothing for granted trying to dial this all in. I can visually see room for improvement regarding bank balancing and my eyes are terrible and I haven't even connected a manometer to it yet.

This needs to be correct before the plenums go back on and you have zero visibility to the plates during the sync/setup procedures.

The translation of the whole procedure is one to chuckle. I think the procedure could be rewritten in a few simple steps/concepts.

No biggy here. Get them all the same closed and have them crack open at the same time.
If you have a jig, nice way to pull vacuum you can do it off the car.

BTW these things are old and leak everywhere. Surfaces warp like mad on these old materials. Give it a good goose
