In the case of 5073, it is really pretty amazing. Someone tears a car down that far and pour so much capital into it but completely overlooks the cars most glaring fault. john
John, I"m with Al on this one - I don't see the glaring fault. Maybe you gotta be a Lusso owner to see it...
The seller was mkletzmer Tom S has had a bad experience (as posted in the 246 section) to the tune of $4,000.00. That's enough for me to raise serious BS alarms on the seller.
Something doesn't look right with the nose of this car. John thinks it was badly mangled and not repaired well. The grille is off and one fender sits higher than the other. Or maybe it's a bad photo? I wonder if it looks bad in person. -steve Image Unavailable, Please Login
How can you tell one fender sits higher than the other? The shot was taken at an angle. I do agree, the grill does look strange. I have a hard time believing all that time and money went into it and they decided to put at bent grill on it. It could just be the lighting and angle that causes this. I was about to say the glaring fault was that the color isn't red! I think that silver is perfect. tdf would look nice, too.
Steve, To me the gille and stance have to do with the photograph and the way the car was lit. Are you guessing that this is what John is referring to or did he tell you this? I'm in line with mdsaxon - it's the foor mat . Regards, Art S.
There is only one 1984 ford escort station wagon on ebay. There values also must be on the rise. These are going to be rare. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Escort-84-Ford-Escort-Diesel-85-Lynx-Topaz-Tempo_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6229QQihZ019QQitemZ290030617979QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Lol, looks like a cheeky grin to me! After all, they were made using pretty high tech tools: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I know the real answer. I'm waiting to hear this: What is wrong with the car? "It's not in my garage!" - Mr. Vardanian
An old thread seems to contain the answer - at least in regards to the burgundy photos: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72281 I still think we might be seeing some sort of optical illusion in the most recent photo from the auction. I sent a note to the caretaker of this car to see if he can clarify the details of the restoration or provide other images. >8^) ER
