Note that there was a slight change in the software and transaxle on the F430 starting from 2008 forward, that claimed slightly faster shifts. I think it went from 150ms to 120ms?

Possibly, but both cars seems to have the same effect, I fitted the same scudding digital switch to both 2007 and 2008 car with in my mid with same result, to be fair my 2007 car was a very late 2007...in addition it got rid of that annoying click behind the passenger seat (RHD car) every time I switched gear....that in itself was worth it..... I agree. I installed it purely for peace of mind. If it improves shift times, that's great, but that was not my primary goal. Instructions are great and install took about 30 minutes because I'm a klutz. Scanned with my Launch Tech USA X-431 Torque diagnostic tool. No issues.

I have it but and have disconnected the information unit, noise, lights etc and just kept the smart relay. The only small issue I have is that every 2 weeks or so, it disables the F1 pump, which I can reset with a quick twist of the battery trunk switch. I called Stef at scuding swiss on friday and he noted that my battery maybe on the way out or my earth may not be sound. I tested the battery with an Ohm meter and its fine and then inserted a metal washer on the earth bolt (which is in the original instructions but had been omitted) lets see

OK, so how did you test a battery with a multi-meter? Failure modes on batteries can be a bunch of things and many don't involve a drop in voltage; they caused a reduced ability to source current, increased internal leakage, lower capacity, and a few other things. The only way to know for sure is to load test the battery and that takes specific equipment.

I have the same issue... except it happens once a year, so far. (Scuding Swiss told me the same-thing.)

I bought and installed the basic because I read here all the complaints about unwanted beeping with the advanced. I'm happy with it. Peace of mind.

Since i removed the ECU unit everything has worked perfectly. I stood out with the annoying beeping for almost two seasons.

After further review, it seems as if only the squeaky wheels complained about unwanted beeping, and that was because they didn't properly configure the controller. If everyone who LIKED the unit posted the ratio would be different. I found that if it DOES beep, there is a problem you need to take a look at, otherwise it is silent (when properly configured). So I will be selling my almost-brand-new Basic version and buying the Advanced from StefVan. That will have to wait because I'm burning through cash faster than a Trump casino. The Full Rear LED Kit is in the air right new aboard a FedEx cargo plane, and I want the DRL kit. I had no idea that Ferrari does not have DRLs and that Stef's position lamp replacements allow you to turn them on at engine start and stay on.

Wow... For the tenth time or so. Some of us had problems with beeping although there is not a single issue with the system. Scud Ing confirmed that some units were faulty and updated the later ones.

Dan, where do you get your F1 system serviced here in the Seattle-area? I just picked up a 2009 F430 and think mine needs servicing and a new accumulator (I just purchased the Scud Ing parts and plan to install them next week). Thanks! -Mitch

    Hi Mitch,

    Congrats on your 2009 F430!

For Ferrari service I highly recommend Mark Glenwood of 7 Lakes Automotive. He’s in Arlington but worth the drive. He does a great job and charges fair prices.

Mark was designated by Ferrari corporate as 2nd best mechanic in the world a few years back during an international competition. He now have his own shop.

Tell Mark I sent you and he will take very good care of you.

    Mark Glenwood (360) 941-6527

    Hope that helps.

    Dan Loyola.

Thanks, Dan. I just got off the phone with him--not realizing he was doing his own thing. I met Mark back at a Challenge day at Sonoma Raceway many years ago and thought he was incredible. He'll be giving the new toy a full once-over here soon. :) I'll mention you mentioned him as well when I see him.

Are you still local? Would love to see your car and hear it if you're ever around. I'm in Bellevue.

    I’m in Everett.

I actually sold my F430 Spider a year ago and now drive a 2016 California T. Another fun car to own & drive.

I go to ERTC car show about once a month.
I plan on being there this Saturday as I missed their opening last week. I had family gathering.

    Hope to see you there.

We are going on a drive this Saturday if you are interested. Contact William Howard our local activities director. He’s on Facebook & FCA website.
