My car is almost out of gas, and I can't find the button for the fuel filler door. The 456M had a button with an icon on it. I just spent ten minutes in the car and didn't find it! lol Google did not help.
Two ways (I have a 430 but they are very similar so I would assume they may be the same): 1) the toggle switches to the left of the steering wheel, it should be right by where you pop the front trunk. In my 430 the keys needs to be in the ignition 1 position 2) Pop the rear hatch, there is a little pull handle on the left side right by the airbox & muffler, that is the emergency fuel door release for when you don't have power
Edit: actually for the 360 the toggle switch may be in the center console by the hand brake, check there too
Nope. There are two unlabelled buttons under the row of switches to the left of the steering wheel. What do those do? Also, I looked in the engine bay for the emergency release. Can't find that either. Ah, but of course. It's hidden under that flip up thingamajig on the center console. I hate when I have to go to the manual out to figure something out.
Check this post right here with the pics: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/140435017/ Not sure if that is a spider or not, can't read italian. It also shows you where the emergency release is. But you should definitely try the unmarked buttons. If they are dead buttons they wont do anything, some times instead of blanks Ferrari fits a dead button and just doesn't label it. To my recollection the toggles on the 430, there are 3 of them, and 1 fake / blank one: Rear window defrost, fuel door release, front trunk release.
To add... Be sure to put the gas cap back on very tightly. My first fill up (on my 360) and I didn't. I got my first CEL. That's all it was: gas cap not tightened. I'm sure you don't need any early freakouts over the CEL on a car you just got, right? Plus then you have to get the fault cleared to get rid of the CEL light. Now, fill that baby up and drive it in a style that would make Enzo proud bro
Don't feel bad..I drove out of the dealer without locating the window wipers...in Oregon that created drama as I'd never driven it and had plenty to learn. Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
Drove mine home from the dealer then couldn't figure out how to start it. 2nd day found limp mode, didn't wait for "check ok" light. 3rd day, same gas flap problem!
Similar rookie experience: had just picked up my 360 and went to fuel it up. All went well until I tried to start it and didn't know about the key fob immobilizer button. Had to call the salesman. Ugh.
and dont press the hood button by mistake because if i remember correctly the f1 360 wont start if the trunk isnt shut completely
How do you read the manual if you have an F1? The gated guys tell me they have the only true manuals!
I'm glad that you found it. These kinds of threads always makes me think, "What the heck did people do before the internet"?
I knew where the gas cap switch was inside the car, but I didn't initially know that the ignition had to be turned to a certain position. First time I had to fill her up, I ended up propping the engine cover open in order to pull the cable. Dealer then told me that the ignition must be on. So I discovered that yes, if the engine is running, I can now pull that switch In the end, I realized that as long as the electrics are running and the engine is not, then that's all you need to open the gas cover...
This is actually funny, because the generation of V12's that includes the 456/456M, 550/575M are exactly the opposite. If you try to open the fuel door with the engine running, it won't work. Same with the trunk.
Don't feel bad, I didn't know either when I got mine! Fortunately, my good friend Nate told me before I drove off the first time, the idea hadn't crossed my mind in all my searches! LOL!!
