Like father, like son? My father never gave me a lecture when I got booked or lost licences as a youngster. Many years later I found out my Grandfather knew the local Sargent when my father was young and asked him to mis place all my fathers tickets. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Yep it gets better Gary, he was laid off by the dealership when they got wind of his ban but I was kind of glad, those big car dealerships are glorified sweat shops that teach jack all bar servicing new cars to their apprentices, and that’s all he’s been doing for the past 2 years, hopefully we can find him a small company where he can learn to be a proper mechanic Bit rough he’s a heck of a hard worker Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yep he’s a good lad, it’s just life’s ups n downs, it’s all part of the ride Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Oh and I hate the fact that my Ac control knobs fall to pieces after a mere 20 years and finding a single knob is impossible Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Hmmm. Well that sucks. I’d imagine most people can relate to that. Part of growing up, really. Unless you’re Moretti, of course. Send your knob to Dave at StickyRX. He’ll sort it.
Thanks Steve will do Ethan needs to join a car club Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
You're not wrong mate, just this morning they unveiled a new 40 km/h sign in town and apparently there is a cop there now catching everyone for speeding through it because they all must assume it's still 60 km/h. I am glad someone brought it to my attention on Facebook otherwise I would have done the usual 60 km/h through there also until I noticed the new sign.
I feel like the accelerator peddle on current Ferraris is a bit too heavy at first. It takes 3x more force to push initially compared to after the first 3% of travel. Wish I could lighten up that initial push.
Sounds like a blessing mate. I did my apprenticeship in a small family owned w/shop and it was the best thing I ever did. I had learned so much in such a small amount of time I completed my apprenticeship in 2 years 2 months back in the year 2000 as part of the first competency based QLD apprenticeships. The only thing we didn't do was aircon service and repairs, so they excluded that module from my apprenticeship. By the time I went to 2nd year Tafe, I had worked on everything from a Willy's Jeep, 57 Chevs right through to servicing and repairing new cars. We also used to be the 'go to guys' to rebuild all the old Ford 302/351 and old Holden/Chev engines. My boss man lived for that **** so he taught me all the tricks of the trade on how to build a strong old V8 engine. That's all we rebuilt, he had no interest in building anything other than those old V8 engines. The boys that worked at the dealerships I did Tafe with told me they were still sweeping floors and assisting the tradesman to service the new cars during the 2nd year of their apprenticeships. If possible, see if you can find an opening in a small family owned w/shop to take him on to complete his apprenticeship. He will definitely learn a lot more than being at a dealership.
Or try that Loctite super glue equivalent. Brilliant stuff . You've just got to make sure you put it in the refrigerator for longevity.
