Spinning off of Ivan Drago's post, it made me think of posting about my time this am and on every gathering I've ever attended. Today was the first day out of hibernation since November, so it's always exciting like a new car day and renewing the appreciation of what you really have. This is a group I typically run with, who all have Ferrari's as well, but also take out other toys as most of us do. We hit 4 gatherings this am and wound up at 1600 Veloce in North Salem, NY. This might sound familiar to BAT junkies like myself, because they are a huge contributor / seller on the site. To the point, I had the valves open once I approached the first gathering and rest of day and can't tell you how many people were shocked, that I didn't have an aftermarket exhaust. Their jaws literally dropped when I said no, just a valve controller. IMO, the 458's open exhaust note, is absolutely perfect in every way and a controller is a must to showcase it! How many of you 458 owners have one as well and same experience I assume?!

I have a Forza valve controller on a stock 458 spider and I am very happy with it. It gives options that you do not have otherwise. The open exhaust with the top down is exhilarating, and when I want it quiet, I can close the valves and sit back and relax a little bit. The open exhaust with the top closed drones at a certain highway speed. If cruising at highway speeds, just close them if drone occurs. Pop 'em open when someone in a car looking for some action comes along side while driving, usually gets their attention!

No controller - open all the time. I'm not into quiet. And screw the neighbors.

I also have a Capristo valve opening device and enjoy it. I've never owned a Ferrari in the past that I did not install an after market exhaust to improve sound etc., but I feel the factory 458 exhaust with the capristo installed has totally satisfied my sound needs.

Mine has a switch on the steering column for open, or stock setup. Love it. I use it open around 75% of the time, but the stock setup works great for highway driving due to drone.
