So, I used them once , many yrs ago....was a decent deal....until I turned on my sprinkler system, and had 3 heads damaged due to there aration to my lawn...$200 later, and them not agreeing to the damage, (which I thought was funny, since I showed the heads with punctures) I stayed quiet ( I know , unlike me)....since I pre-paid....the service continued.

The following year, they kept calling, last year they came to give me fertilizer....put a bill in my mailbox....LOL.....and had t fight weeds all year last year like a mad man....I'm certain they added weed seeds to my lawn.

This year, it's been 4 weeks now, they are constantly calling...and tonight, kid at the front door....talk about harassing.....has anyone else dealt with them like this ? If so, I would like to hear what you did.

I have a little surprise for them shortly if I get one more harassing call....or knock on the door.

What a desparate and annoying company...NEVER !!!!! EVER !!!!!! Talk to this company again.

In the US, you can ask to not be called again, and if they persist, they can be fined $1000 per phone call or something like that. I have an attorney friend who does nothing but these kinds of cases, most companies immediately send a check out for $5,000 for her to drop the matter. It would be a lot more expensive in court.

Check your laws. There has to be something against harassment like this on the books. Document it, make them pay, and they will mend their ways very quickly. Plus, you might get your sprinkler heads paid for, finally.

They were a descent outfit, until they went corporate. I had an unusual rich growth in my lawn, when the guy came to the door. Told him, the next day, the franchisee came over and told me it was a fairy ring, and how to fix it. I bought in to their program, for over 12 years. Then he left and everything went corporate, billing, calls, soliciting, by some coincidence I guess the products went cheap too. I dropped thmn 2 yrs ago, They started using beet juice or Fiesta crap or something. I have been pulling enough dandelions to make salad for a week. They claim they can't kill the stuff anymore 9-10 visits and they have a weed puller team + they leave holes in the lawn. I use a smaller fork then add potting soil. Anyways waste of money, Nutrilawn are no better they have the contract at my parents, and the lawn is a mess, they spray, stuff turns brown then grow twice as strong, eventually weeds kill the grass and you have an ugly yard. Giant ripoff.

Canada has an anti phone soliciting law of some sorts, but if you are (were) one of their customers , it doesn't apply

We had Dr Green lawn company come do our place 2 years ago. Completely useless service didn't do anything for the lawn, certainly didn't cut down on the weeds.
On 2 occasions I caught them putting the lawn in the little lawn sign telling people they just did a treatment. Once they never went in the back yard (my wife was back there and they never came in) the other time they just put the sign in the lawn without doing a thing. I watched them from the kitchen.

After firing them they continued to harass us for a year they even had the balls to come and do a treatment and tried billing us.

They are some pretty shady people billing for work not done.

With the banning of effective weed control chemicals first in Toronto, then Ontario, we'll all have to get used to weeds. I've got a large lawn that I brought back from the dead about 10 years ago. Now I can only watch it slowly revert.

Well, you found out the the hard way that aeration is a no no if you have a sprinkler system. what I found works well is a very stiff rake does a good job, and next time you go south drop in Wallmart or HD and pick up full grade lawn chemicals.BTW RONA has fertilizer on sale for about $8.00 this coming week.
All and all I take care of my own lawn for about $20.00 in products per year, and my lawn looks great.

Heard about WeedMan. Not good. They USED to be good years ago, but have gone down hill.
Found out the same about DrGreen the hard way... We had a weed problem and they promised the world. They did come around and spray as they said, but the problem was never solved, I complained mid way thru and they said they would change chemicals and try something else. Still nothing. Never renewed. Did it myself...

I have never had my sprinkler system punctured, and I have had others mark the heads before they came....I specifically told them to becareful and showed them where they were around the property, he assured me and it was on my agreement when I signed off on the package....clearly, they don't care....but annoyed me most was, I had more weeds that year than my entire history, and was calling them weekly , and I would see the sign in the lawn that they came....LOL

Regardless, I do buy my own fertlizer now and the old fashion way with an old knife in the ground too....it's good exercise....I'm thinking I'm firing my landscaper to this year...he cut a few of my wife's flowers with the weed wacker the last 2 yrs .... Nothing worse than listen to here whining 30 minutes a time too....geez, these guys...good help is so hard to find.

I live down wind of a huge field which is more dandelion than anything else. I pretty much have given up.
I want to do what my Nono did, patio stones and pour concrete, no more grass.

Holy crap. I need to deliver a truck load of weed kill to you guys out there. I treat my lawn once a year. Dandelions are wilted the next day and gone in a week and dont come back. I bought a 20 litre jug of the stuff farmers use. It will last me for 10 years or so and im on 1.5 acres.

You should start a business delivering weed killer to Ontario--in an unmarked truck of course.

As myself and a few neighbours do buy weed killer at target or home depot in the U.S apply friday nights at dusk,no bylaw inspectors like to work past 4.30,no problems so far.Sorry but when you live by a weed infested Toronto park you have not much choice since we were blessed previously with Mayor and his grass roof at city hall.

There are a few of them out there but one that Ive used lots, and still have is, a product called Premium 3way. Its a mix of 24D, Mecoprop and Dicamba I believe. Works great. Its like nuclear waste too. It never goes bad...LOL. When I first moved out to where I live the next door neighbor always had lots of dandelions. They all blew in to my yard all the time so I asked him if was going to spray. He said he tried many times with store bought crap and it never worked and he swore nothing would touch the weeds out here. He somehow thought they were magic hybrid weeds that were placed here by aliens. I chuckled and told him I would spray his yard and guaranteed I would kill them. He laughed at me and thought I was crazy. Sprayed them that night and the next day they were wilted and 1 week later they were gone and didnt come back the entire summer. I think he thought I was an alien...LOL..

I had the same issue as the OP. My weeds were worse off after using a service and they killed my ivy somehow too. The next year, they showed up uninvited and left a bill for $80 for fertilizer that doesn't work. I paid it and told them not to come back. Isn't opt-out an awesome way to do business?

My neighbour did nothing about weeds until the pesticide ban; now everyone else has weeds thanks to his dandelions. His lawn now looks great as he is using some pesticide that nobody else can buy, while ours look like s**t.

No problem at all, as the ban is not federal, so the boarder officials which are federal don't care.
