Yes; I started another exhaust thread against my better judgement. I ask for forgiveness b/c I’m trying to do my fellow F355 nuts a great service. To avoid getting further nasty comments; my opinion of the best sounding F355 exhaust system is just that: my opinion (even though I’m right). I’m not stating that I’m the world expert on F355 exhaust systems; however I’ve owned the following. Cap 1 (owned by a friend~ who quickly changed to Sound 2) Cap 2 Cap 3 Original Tubi Tubi Rumor’e Tubi standard new style (owned by many of you & multiple local friends) In early 2022 Shineken & I had some serious exhaust discussions which lead to our curiosity about Kreissieg. I know many Ferrari aficionado’s that claim that Kreissieg makes the best exhaust for (various) Ferrari’s (Testarossa sounds best with KSG, IMO). Like many of you; I couldn’t find much information about Kreissieg or hear true sound clips. I researched threads & comments made over time on various threads (all models); the one exhaust that was never questioned was Kreissieg. Everyone that heard it~ loved it. Everyone that owns it will not change. I am now in that court. My opinion continues: People can continue to debate Tubi vs. Capristo indefinitely. I’m glad the conversation is always Tubi vs. Capristo b/c Kreissieg does not belong in that debate. Kressieg should never be in that debate & there are many reasons why…Mainly, it’s FAR superior to both. I finally talked Kreissieg into allowing me to hear the system on a 355 during a business trip to Japan (a customer brought his car to my hotel). The order was in 1 minute later. I ordered it 7/22 & it was finally delivered just days ago. Questions pop up about Kreissieg at times & are rarely answered. Before I bought the most expensive F355 exhaust system on earth; I asked many. Here are the results: -Kreissieg is pronounced (Cry-Seek) If you want to fully Americanize butcher it (Cry-Sig). If you want to say it correctly~ say (Cry-Seek). -Privately owned customization shop, repair shop, highest end part manufacturer & dealer located in Yokohama, Japan. -They’ve been in business for decades & used to make custom exhausts by hand in the 1980’s b/c they hated everything in the market. Eventually the demand got so huge they formally opened the exhaust division. The call it “KSG” for short. -The systems are hand built by one person. They will not allow anyone to touch the exhausts until they pass their master class on rainbow welding. All exhausts with rainbow welds copied Kreissieg’s (weld) design. -They are extremely proud. They will not allow once system to leave without inspecting it under a microscope. The have a machine that tears each piece; it mimics a car engine so KSG can tune the system prior to shipping. -Each system is made to order. You won’t find the ultimate exhaust on a shelf. My system took a year; the lead times aren’t usually that long. -The majority of Kreissieg orders are for the “Howling” or “super howling.” The “Ultimate” system contains the Ultimate Muffler. It is their premier muffler. They will not allow you to purchase the Ultimate Muffler without the Swirl pipe. -Swirl pipe. Replaces the factory “Y” pipe. Regardless of manufacturer; a Y pipe cannot produce the high pitch scream of the swirl pipe. The swirl pipe is rainbow welded. More about my system: -Kreissieg Valves (AWESOME)!! The ultimate exhaust is Valved. You can chose sound level 1-5. 1= stock DB. 5= insanity. Ultimate 5 is not a straight pipe. The baffles are tuned for less restriction but the sound is tuned, loud & high pitched. My system is sound 2 & 5. -KSG valve controller. The KSG valve controller is wireless. A computer is hardwired into the car. It comes with everything you need including a KSG solenoid. I wanted the Kreissieg Manifolds to match, but they weren’t heat shielded so I ordered the TUBI’s. I also ordered the KSG test pipes. Lastly; mini cats turn off CEL’s. My total parts cost was around $20k. That includes shipping, customs, fee’s, etc. I also got a slight discount from the distributor. I will post video in late July/early August. @ShineKen & many of you have been patiently waiting for over a year. This is the only Ultimate F355 system in America with the latest version (Americans don’t order KSG much). There are super howlings in America (most use a Y pipe; which prevent the high pitch). Kressieg upgrades the Ultimate system occasionally; they make little tiny adjustments & change the version number. You don’t have to ask the version number (they won’t tell you); b/c you’ll always have the latest one (made to order & they take their time). Yes, it’s expensive, but I cannot imagine anyone else taking this much time to make it perfect. They’ve tuned the ultimate exhaust in a way I seriously doubt others do. The super howling is much less expensive. I’ve heard it on a 360. It’s just as loud as the sound 3, but the pitch is WAY higher. Tubi loud is a joke vs the Cap 3 so it’s not even in the discussion regarding “loud exhausts.” Tubi loud is not as loud as the Cap 3 BTW. The car community in Japan is very particular. Much more than most Americans (there are exceptions & I’m one of them). They love race cars. They do not like convertibles & coupes sell way better than targa’s due to wind noise & rigidity. Want to know why there are so few Berlinetta’s in the USA? They’re all in Japan (and England). It would be interesting to find out how many US Spec GTB’s were made vs. GTS. I digress. My test of the Capristo’s vs. Tubi vs. KSG is on going. I’m done with the Caps & the Tubi that I bought in Japan is coming off in a few weeks. I do not have soundtracks for the Caps or Tubi’s, but you can find them online. The F355 is arguably the best sounding car ever made. That’s why I’ve been obsessed with finding the Best sounding exhaust system. The ultimate system on an F355 will help solidify the idea that 355’s win the sound competition. The people in Japan swear by Kreissieg. There may not be too many Americans willing to test all of these systems, but they’ve done it more extensive than I have in Japan. I hope this helps answer some of the questions. Interesting, the bypass definitely looks straight piped. Any good sound clips? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I love it when our state side fellow 355 enthusiasts take one for the team. These systems add-up. Hardly anyone can test them all.
The swirl pipe is titanium; however it is not available to buy (yet). I was very lucky to be offered one of their test systems. They; trashed the first system they made me b/c the welder accidentally got a 1/2” burn mark on the underside of the swirl pipe (which led me to the opportunity). Tim
I ordered a KSG from Vivid Racing last year when I first got my car. After a couple weeks Vivid canceled the order. They said it was discontinued. Shrug. Some of them sound good (as well as can be discerned on YouTube) but many just sound antisocial and ear-splitting. Maybe it’s different in person. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Ksg sounds the best on. 348 and 355, it's irrifutable. Some may prefer Capristo etc but as far as sound, fit, finish, material, ksg is a different level. Especially if your after higher pitched sound and they sound better at idle. Just my opinion, happens to be right, but my opinion none the less. Sent from my SM-G990U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
So these have been urban legends for different platforms for at least 15 years. What I had always heard was they lost a lot of HP, and they could never keep US based dealers. So I’m sure that doing a before/after dyno would be appreciated by owners.
That too is an urban legend. Dyno would be good though. I don't believe any exhaust adds 25 hp and they all claim that capristo, tubi etc.
I don't either. I'm probably not going to dyno the car in all honesty. I bet it raises the HP some, but the manufactuer claims are ridiculous. Kreissieg doesnt' claim a HP bump. The lead times are nuts; hence the difficulty in obtaining them. They're not set-up for high production. After they failed my first swirl pipe due to a 1/2" dark spot in the weld; I knew that quantity was not their business.
There is a 0% probability that the Kreissieg in your possession looses power over the OEM or Tubi exhaust. There is a 100% probability it sounds better than the OEM and Tubi. Looks... well we all know it look better than any other of the usual suspects.
