You did WHAT??? Remember our deal - what you spend, I spend half that. Hmm that reminds me, you owe me Mr! Posted by 'Stephen's wife' (he is on the phone!)
I've held out on getting a bike license (my parents have threatened to chop some important bits off if I do), but this bike is worth talking like peewee! By the time I can legally ride it, I'll be able to afford it!
Zagame. They sponsored my race bike as well. Top guys, can't reccomend them highly enough. Yep BIG trouble.
Iggy I have a sweet 999 you're welcome to have a ride on anytrime. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What's the estimated Aussie allocation for interests sake? You should get the Boss her own computer, that way sillyness can be kept to yourself! I am guessing you can get a good deal on one
Almost as stupid as calling her to go through my credit card statement online to work out how much was spent on the Ferrari....
Yeah, that wasn't a great move. Like I said, you need lessons. I once had 4 motorcycles, only 2 of which the boss knew about. I kept 2 at home under covers and the other 2 at the dealers. I used to rotate them and got away with it for a couple of years too. I eventually got caught, and quite correctly got in some serious trouble (but I enjoyed 4 bikes in the meantime).
Iggy's done favours for me in the past and we catch up semi regularly, so unfortunately for him, I consider him a friend.
I forgot this. The reason I asked about quota's is that I believe Ducati were coerced into producing this bike by influential customers. Ducati is apparently in the financial poo (yet again) and don't have the resources to develop it into a production model. Hence the production run was to be extremely limited and the bikes were to be very expensive. The bikes were also due to be delivered to customers late this year. Hence how many for Oz and what certainty of any making it here at all. Next question is will the importers bother complying them? I remember when I got my 916SP (2nd into Aus) they had no intention to comply them. After 6 months the few owners got together and funded Australian compliance themselves. I seem to remember it was done in WA. Later on the importer took over compliance for the limited models.
If it happened in WA it was probably via a guy who was selling Italian bikes at the time (I think he's still an F Club member actually) and was also tied up with the VEE TWO tuning guy. He's out of the bike trade now, so someone else will have to do it!
The VEE TWO thing sounds familiar; but I don't remember the guys name. We each tipped in $2k and he did all the work.
it's got more going for it than meets the eye. Besides being drop dead gorgeous, the way the exhaust exits the tail pretty much makes it a single seater so qualifies for cheap rego/third party.
mates dad rides a 998 and a 999S with a few mods.. he had a deposit on a 999R, but news was that they wernt to be imported into australia.. (are they here or not) Either way, thats one hellova bike!!!
