Wow! You have done some amazing work! I'm very excited to see the final product this weekend! It should be fun!

I am impressed with your efforts to correct and sort out the issues you have identified.

With respect to the rocker panels, they are supposed to be finished with something more akin to a matte/satin black. See pages 222-223 of the Dino Compendium. It looks like you have undercoating (or something similar) instead. That can be addressed later though because the goal now is to protect your Dino and get in on the road so you can enjoy it again without worrying about underpanels flying off!!

Thanks Wael & Mark. It's been a labor of love and has given me a new appreciation for the incredible number of hours put in by actual restorers.
Everything is fiddley and takes much longer than it looks.

    More progress:

Improvised tool to extract old rivets from frame tube and managed to fit vaccum attachments into the tube to clear any debris and sand prior to rust spray.

    Wheels mounted !

Admittedly I'm not very familiar with Dino details, but did their lower valance "black-outs" originally feature textured undercoating ?
I know Daytonas didn't, yet I often see their valances covered with it or some textured rocker-chip guard.
Not that there's anything wrong with it, but just interested in confirming originality.

Not sure about that one. If not, it's there for rust prevention purposes which is fine with me.

Purely as a matter of confirming originality the black was not textured from factory.

Sealing the floor is a good idea because as soon as air gets in there the forces are enormous.

    Hey Skipp!

Did you by any chance get the serial number of the red 246 GTS parked next to you? It looks a lot like mine that I sold a few years ago.

    Mark,

That car is owned by gbutler on this forum. You could reach out to him to see.
