ha ha ha I did think that as I got Lexi to dress up 80s style and stand there on the side of the road
yes Graham, its an X-ost back box and obviously i created the bypass pipes as per above, sounds flipping fantastic now
NEW Bit of Sunday afternoon tinkering in the Ratarossa. Having tested the new exhaust system for a couple of weeks I am happy now that everything is working well so I need to remove some of the now unnecessaryold system. First was to remove all the clamps, wiring and ecus for the thermocouples. The loom part I have taped up the loose connectors and will hide behind the old hidden panel. Second during the sports exhaust install I fitted the Euro muffler box, subsequently I had to modify the hangers so the spring type heavy stock fitting also get removed. Ratarossa weight saving Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Next job was to fix my drivers side pop up light. Everything popped up ok but since filming the Smoking Tire video the lights wouldn’t actually work. I had previously had something similar which was caused by a bad connector in the loom under the speedo binnacle. So jumping head first I stripped it all down to discover everything connector wise was fine. I then checked fuses and worked forward to the actual light connector behind the lights and within seconds saw it was laying loose unconnected ..... popped it back together and all working perfect. Lesson learned, never overlook the obvious basics
Final job today was investigation. I have a small oil leak under the car at the back that seems to gradually be getting worse. I’ve tightened up all the 13mm nuts and anything else I can see but my feeling is that’s not going to change a thing. Looking like the leak is somewhere around where the clutch area. I’m wondering if a seal has started to perish ? More investigation and testing required here.

Hey Scott, after forgetting (...and forgetting...and forgetting...well, mostly remembering halfway into my commute) to bring the mag with me to work to scan properly, I finally did it. Prancing Horse #208 Ratarossa short article is attached. sjd
Finally got the footage of Michael Jackson driving the Black Testarossa Spider in the 80s Pepsi commercial
I am now about to start my New next project over on the 308 Forum Its a US 308 GTS QV 1983 car and a non runner. The plan is to get it back on the road, fully rebuild the car along with a total respray and at the same time do a US to Euro Conversion. I will VLOG the full build start to finish on my YouTube channel. Heres the first video of the series and start of the 308 Project. Enjoy
just have a look for other wheels than those metric TRX, makes no fun to drive so what is with the ratarossa? nothing to do on it anymore? just put clear coat on that is looks shiny
------------- Hey Romano, Plenty to do in the Ratarossa still, just a lack of space in the garage. I had planned an engine out full refresh this winter but my other two projects got in the way having fun with the TR. As soon as Ive finished on the 348 project Ill be back on the Testarossa. It feels like spring time here in the Uk at the moment so I'm keen to get the car out and use it much more this year.
Had a great night at GTO engineering last night, was lucky enough to get a tour around the facilities by owner Mark who really enjoyed the Ratarossa. Absolutely amazing the work the do at GTO on the worlds rarest Ferrari's, they can reproduce an entire car. Mark explained that because an original engine in a 250 GTO, SWB or Testarossa for example is so unique and impossible to replace, many of the owners have a second engine and running gear built and used in the cars while they race them or tour them, originally engine are then wrapped up and stored.
