Busch Fontana California....wrong place, wrong time JPM can't buy a break. Running midpack, three wide and the bottom two tangle resulting in his second Busch DNF. I'm uploading the video now and will post the URL when it's done. He seemed pretty upbeat in the post-wreck interview. Starts 9th tomorrow in the Nextel Cup race.
YouTube is taking it's time processing the video, but it should be available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C3KC6shJFg eventually
Fontana's not 4 hrs. in a wind tunnel like the high banks of Daytona. More of a high speed drivers track that may suit JPM. We will see.
Yep, 2 laps down. Hard to tell at this point if it's Juan or the standard sub-standard Ganassi cars. They haven't been a top team recently, and their best car ended up a lap down today. Of course, California is known for long green flag runs that leave half the field down laps. Vegas should be more of the same, hope they hit the setup. Has anyone heard if JPM is running the Busch race in Mexico this coming weekend?
I think JPM is running Mexico, since there is no Nextel race., As far as Vegas being more of the same, it will be nothing like it was before, since they completely re-did the track.
Swore on another thread that I would give up bashing JPM for Lent. So I can't say anything about him. My boy, Jeff Gordon, got the pole, finished second, and moved up to third overall in the standings. ONLY 19 DAYS TO MELBOURNE. Ciao Phil Not Hill aka Dr. Phil Life is too short not to own a Ferrari and be an F1 fan.
I think it will be a while before JPM does much in NASCAR, he's still being schooled in offensive driving. Cheers! DT
check this video out of Juan on the David Letterman show. Listen to his opinion on Nascar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fWi8CGGMKQ&mode=related&search=

JPM set the fastest time of the day in practice for the Busch race in Mexico City. 3rd in Practice 1: http://www.nascar.com/races/bg/2007/3/data/practice1_speeds.html 1st (also overall) in Practice 2: http://www.nascar.com/races/bg/2007/3/data/practice2_speeds.html For those not familiar with the track, it is a road course. Formerly used by F1 for the Mexican GP. Lap record was set in 1991 by Nigel Mansell in the WilliamsF1 car. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autodromo_Hermanos_Rodr%C3%ADguez
Qualified 3rd. He's upset since they made some adjustments and said they were all wrong adjustments. Now it's very tight and he lost .7 secs of yesterday's time and he said yesterday's setup was nothing special. He did the same things he did yesterday, braked at the same place, but the "car didn't steer." He kept saying he's frustrated...
I'm sick of this. His team is just garbage or something and can't do anything right. His last pit stop was supposed to be his last til the checkers. They had a problem refueling and only put in 6.5 gallons and didn't realize. So he now has to pit again 8 laps later for the retards to put in the rest of the fuel. Game over. I hope he goes to a team that knows what they're doing as well as give him a good oval-course car.
watched 5 min of espn coverage...4 of which they explained how the driver needs to take his hand of the wheel to change gears/brake bias, never making that mistake ever again...
I just saw this too, how can you mess up putting the fuel in the car? (yes I saw the technical analysis afterwards) It sounds pretty rediculous to have a pit crew mess up like that. It seems that JPM has the talent to win races, but his team is kinda letting him down. At least the caution came out so he still has a chance for the win.
Wow...Caution just in the nick of time. It will give him a chance, with four fresh tires (with the rest of the field on older tires). I like how this is on ESPN2, yet on ESPN it is in Spanish.
