Congrats ! Hope to hear more driving reports soon!!!
I crawled through a red/black one today with stripe. OMG..... just OMG. What else can you say about this car? The details are just amazing. You could just stare at the door panels alone. The engine is something amazing to look at. When they named it Speciale, they weren't kidding.
Blasted through the canyons today. Sun finally out came, the top was down and the capristo remote had the valves open. The engine was singing, wind gently blowing against the backdrop of blue skies, hills and a deep blue ocean. Man what a rush! Felt the cowl shake for the first time but bumpy shock setting calmed it down considerably. Added CF in the engine bay, so she's looking very sweet. Guys if there's anyway to get one....sell your loved one, break the piggy bank but find a way to make it happen. You won't regret it. This has to be one of the classics in years to come. It just has absolutely everything.
I just had Steve's Forza exhaust valve bypass installed. I did not have the Capristo unit to compare side by side but Steve's build quality and attention to detail is very impressive. To install, the undertray and airfilters had to be removed, but not the rear bumper or diffuser so was billed a few hours work. The combined purchase and labor cost to install was less than purchasing the Capristo unit. Remote works flawlessly so far and has transformed the driving experience at normal speeds. Now sounds like a Ferrari should sound without having to go to jail to achieve that effect. However when I was stuck in traffic and wanted to listen to the football (yes I have the radio option) I just switched off and all was good. I have uploaded a very amateur short clip filmed by the kids comparing closed and open valves (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhRLst9E6Yc). Took a proper drive through the canyons today. Top down and never noticed any cowl shake when driving hard. This is just such a complete machine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So excited to hear! Glad you are having a blast so far! Amazing spec- I can't wait for mine (stage 30 now) ! Any numbered placard by chance?
No don't see one. Limited edition one on the center console. Engine of the year one behind the seats on the firewall.
I wish they wouldn't bother with the placards for limited edition and engine of the year. They don't look very good at all. If it was a specific number it might make more sense. Am having them left of my Aperta but they will be delivered loose with the car.
Congrats Rick and great comparison. Did you also notice that the CF paddles were longer than the ones that came with the Speciale? I just saw an SA today and noticed about this additional bonus feature. This is a new part number that has superseded the ones that came with the Speciale ... it's about as long as the Carbonio or 458 Challenge versions but the profile and thickness seems a tad different ... dare I say better?
I did just notice that this morning and happened to read your comment. Great catch. I missed that added bonus. I do like them.
Car looks great! I love my Speciale but the Aperta really is phenomenal, especially for a warmer climate! I'm in LA next weekend taking delivery of my latest purchase, a Countach. If you fancy meeting up for a cruise let me know!

Here is my SA Aperta spotted in Andorra... Ferrari 458 Speciale A - 17 juni 2015 - Autogespot Rod : your car is gorgeous. I only drove mine 40km so far and the only big difference I could see with my 458 Spider is about the gearbox. I am looking forward to knowing her more and see what it does past 5/6000RPM...
Congrats on your SA. She's gorgeous. I am impressed by your control. I find it impossible to keep it at low rpm's .
