    Dear all F-Chat members,

I thought that because performance modifications are a seemingly hot topic in this section of the forum, a thread should be created which lists most to all modifications available for the 360/CS in a categorized format; the aim being to help owners to decide on what upgrades work best with each other and what works best for them. You missed the 2 most important performance modifications.

    1. The Driver.
    2. Weight Reduction.

I'll just chime in here before people get too carried away hacking the hell out of their Ferrari without applying enough science. If your not prepared to tackle it systematically I would advise to just upgrade to the next model.

Upgrades should always be about overall 'balance' and having a goal. If you want the car to drive better (on road, track, etc.) you need to think of its use and what that would mean. Pretty much every category needs attention - and that requires time and a big budget to do properly - a lot of people cut corners and make the car too excessive in one area or another. Also I see a lot of people upgrading without understand even what the car is capable of in stock form. Go to a track day and ask the tutor to give you a few hot laps in your own car first and be prepared to see how good it is before changing anything.

For example if you reduce weight you need to ensure its done evenly across the car (is the ride height now correct, the rake angle front to rear, etc.) and then ideally corner weighted and geometry reset to fast road spec afterwards to ensure perfect handling - otherwise you just make things worse! A good blueprint to get you started is to understand what Ferrari did to improve the 360 Modena with the upgrades it did on the CS.

    Chassis Improvements
Tires, Wheels, Suspension and Braking. Especially fine tuning such as replacement/refresh of all the wishbone bushes, balljoints, strut bushes, springs, dampers, geometry settings, etc.

    Power, Torque & Handling
Weight Loss (better Power to Weight), Electronics tweaks (Ignition, Gearbox, Digital Throttle Response, ABS, etc.), exhaust system upgrades, intake upgrades.

    Aero Improvements
Downforce rear wing or CS Nulder, lower rear air diffusers, front splitter or CS [or GT racing] front bumper, aero skirts (CS).

    Interior Upgrades
Improve seating (lower weight, better grip), Racing Harnesses (ditto), Stereo Delete (lower weight), sound deadening removal, carpets, cf door panels, leather delete to alcantara, etc.

    Just my 2p's worth...

    Hi 360trev,

I personally believe that all modifications should be achieved with an objective, in great taste and in balance as you have stated. I do not own a Ferrari and thought that it might be of interest to owners. It is really just a more detailed summary of what can be done.

Please remember that I did say if you want to add anything, go ahead!

Tell me more about Zeus tuning ...like price performance. Some the ecu tunes are $2k plus not worth for maybe 25 hp. I wish I could find CS tune

I like the idea. Some stuff you didn't note (mostly off my car and off the top of my head)

    Wheels: CS 19"
Wheels: F430 Centerlock with Taurino Centerlock Kit
Wheels: You could also add the other standard ones (but this section could get out of hand) Also, wheel weights would be handy.

Brakes Systems(you forgot brakes!): Stoptech 380mm BBK

Could add the brembo BBK options...

    Brake Pads: Carbotech (various)
    Many other options here
    Brake Rotors: Stoptech/Aerorotors
    Brake Rotors: Girodisc

Headers: I have the Fabspeed but I didn't use the blankets, I coated them with white lightning

    Muffler: Fuchs

    ECU: Mase Engineering

On the CS Airbox item - you have to note that you also need the CS/F430 MAFs

Don't think you'll get much in the way of shocks, except the full coilover race kits.

Springs: Front Swift 504lbs/in, Rear Swift 615lbs/in, I used 6" springs but added helpers, dividers, and spacers as needed. 8" would probably work best
    Bunch of options here

Suspension Other: I'd love to know what people do to improve bushings, if anything.

Battery: Odyssey PC925 - lots of others to add here

Aero: Could add CS or challenge bumpers, CS parts, or other aero upgrades. I have naca ducts in the floor but can't say they are improvements definitively.

Could add a fluids section - performance implications to what brake fluid you use for example.

Tires: Spell it right! Anyway, Trofeo R, MPSS, RE-11, Pilot Sport Cup

I would believe that you would want to add Hyper-Flow for a sport cat choice...

Anyone know if there is any insulation in the front trunk of a Modena for weight reduction and how much we talking? Diagram show wheel well insulation and something on the fire wall, thanks

A arm bushing i am in process of making a set for my car out of Delrin. The consensus is that they are wee bit harsh ride wise but im ok with that.

Another 25 HP won't make a difference for most people, but weight loss will, braking, acceleration, turning.

Regarding those CS air boxes and adapters, You don't have any FLEX, which could be a problem. The OEM has accordion style hoses which helps with engine movement flex.

Any weight loss worth removing any insulation or is it like 1-2lbs?

Yeah I’ve deleted all the insulation in the cab. My new flex hoses are on there way but I think they sent them via pluto and Milky way.

Did it get annoying inside, like drone or tire noise?

Can sometimes hear the stones hitting the underside other than that really can't hear much over the exhaust sound. :D:D
I did make up new floor mats
