"The V12 unleashes a massive 660 CV at 8,000 rpm, and maximum torque of 683 Nm at 6,000 rpm with 500 Nm already available at just 1,000 rpm." Taken from the Ferrari website! Holy crap, 386lb ft of torque from 1000rpm?? That's really incredible, this thing must be a whole lot of fun to drive
So much for all the guys telling me how the car would be 320k base - that were whispered discreetly at private viewings. 320 to 360 ... How is that Bentley comparison going Then again ... 800 is a years production? Eggs anyone?
What IS the base? I still haven't seen Edit: Nevermind, I saw the article, is that right? I agree that will be problematic for this car
We'll see it when we see it. If you are right, the car will not sell in any serious numbers. I'm not spending $400k+ on a daily driver (the only real purpose for that car).
Wat this car needs is a rear high spoiler above the rear window. I am sure it will break the shape a little, to be a cool hatch.
The hatch hurt it IMO. A Bentley would be my choice if four wheel drive were required. The Rapide with it's lovely looks is a hands down winner if not. The Porsche is disqualified unless I am to drive blindfolded.
I thought more than one was hinted at, if not promised. This one does not replace the 612. It is aimed at a new segment. The AWD hatch market.
Another thing to consider will be depreciation. Because IF this car is supposed to be a DD, then obviously it will see a lot of miles, chips and such. And there arent a lot of people willing to buy a high mileage, dented and stone chipped Ferrari. So you buy your $360k FF, drive 40.000 over 2 years and then what? sell it for $150k?
LMAO I didn't want to go downmarket with comparisons. Thought about it. For some the upmarket will be the decision. I'll applaud them for it. It's just a new car for Ferrari to offer and I think expanding product line is part of their program.
Can anyone confirm the base price? I find it weird that it would be nearly 100k more than what those that went to the private viewing said it would be
A dealer would not touch a 40k mile modern Ferrari and "if" they do ... it's going to leave one heck of a mark.
the dealer here quoted me 360k chf (which is about $380k these days !) for the one i was in that had a lot of options. it all depends on the market. in geneva he will sell out, but he is in the ideal location and one of the highest selling dealers in the world, so not a real indication of the popularity - way too much money floating around here with nothing to do. i figure that IF i ever start liking the car, i will be able to pick up a 2-4 year old example, with less than 20k on the clock for less than half price. thats a nice position to be in frankly. ps, my son liked it....which may have had something to do with the PS3 hookup and screens in the back seat
That's because Ferraris in Europe are driven like they are supposed to be,not sit in garages and taken out only when weather forecast will not predict any rain for at least a month and even then it is only to local "Cars and Coffee show",Starbucks or maybe with girlfriend or wifey to local upscale eatery... God forbid you put more then a thousand miles on the car,it "would kill the resale value!".
this new car is simply not "ferrari pretty". i have no doubt that it is a technical tour de for force but it is in NO way to be considered a pretty car. like a panamera turbo s...i am sure it will be rocket ship fast but never to be considered a stunner. pcb
Hey ... I drive my 612 30% of the time. Ya know how many Ferrari's show up in our club for a drive? Maybe 6 and if it rains - cancelled! I am one of the few guys who drive their Ferrari and firmly believe that a Ferrari that is not driven at least 100 miles a week is ruining the car. Regardless ... hats off to Europe

Hawkeye- My family was from England/Wales (the Wales part explains why I am short) in the early 1700s. Guess that makes me Welsh. Besides, if you are from Belgium, it is a huge deal whether you are French (Walloon) or Flemish. Sort of like Quebec Frenchmen in Canada. Need to be more specific. Taz Terry Phillips
