    Hi there!
I would be interested in your opinions on what is the fun most Ferrari to drive, particularly around deserted mountain roads in France and occasionally - once or twice a year - on the track. I'm most interested in the fun factor - I have an Audi Q5 for errands, a Porsche Boxster S which I am starting to grow out of (not enough power) and an Ariel Atom, which is exhilarating if a bit scary at times (0 to 100 KMs in 2.8 seconds, no driving assistance). I like fast but safe driving and am more sensible that when I was a kid and rode a Ducati ( still not sure how I survived). But at 50 I'm still a kid at heart....
    I'm looking at:
    360 Stradale
430 Spider (have driven one and it was superb)
    430 Scuderia
458 ( bit of a stretch but I could do it)
I realize there is a lot of material on the forum on this but I'm looking for some subjective comparisons for a purely fun, visceral vehicle for carving up the mountain roads - safely of course...
    Thanks in advance
    Wal

Last year you nearly bought a 360CS - not much has changed

You may not want to look but the various lengthy comparison CS/Scud etc threads are still there in the 360/430 section

Looking at your options you have to decide whether you want out and out raw power or some level of comfort. I would go for the F430 Spider. Plenty of power, great chassis and the sound is even better with the top down.
    Just my idea...

If you can come up with the money, I'm thinking a 16M might be a great car for you.

Incredible performance, rarity, Stradale-like handling through the mountain canyon roads, yet luxurious enough for everyday enjoyment.

Anyone know how many of these were made? Early press announcements said only 499 would be sold.

I'm thinking the prices for a 16M should come down some in about a year as the 458 Spider gets widely delivered.

Here's a picture of a tdf blue one I found on the web:

if you want to do all the work then a Dino, 308, 512TR or F40

If you want the car to do all the work then a 458, 430, or other modern F

My choice too. But, I moved to the 458 and it's pretty freakin' awesome.

There is no real answer for the "most fun". It's more like the kind of driving you want to do. You can have a ton of fun in a 308 GT4 and spend less than 20 grand. Or you can buy a 458 for 300.

    It's all relative.

16M is my first pic for you, then Scuderia or CS. The CS market is super thin right now, and you might get pretty similar priceson Scud and CS, maybe $25k-$30k delta, and it will be difficult not to get the Scud in that situation unless you are really drinking the CS koolaid ;). J/K, I love the CS, really don't know if I'd rather own a CS or Scud. Probably a Scud since I already have a 360 with lots of CS specs, at least design wise.

    +1.

Hold out for the 458CS/Scuderia. It'll probably be the most brilliant car of the last twenty years. The normal 458 was a complete and total game changer, and it's the "tame" version.

I may be misquoting but I believe that Enzo said the best Ferrari ever is the one about to come out. In many ways this has been and still is very accurate.
