I been watching the re runs on a cable channel called Centric
This past weekend was a marathon.
When I was in my early 20's I would watch Miami Vice every Friday night.
I spend a month in Miami and stayed at the condo that has the pool and palm tree in the middle of it. You see it on the beginning of each show. I saw them filming the show alot.
The show and Testarossas are so iconic. I miss the good old days!

32 discs? I think my box set with the faux alligator skin only has 27 discs.

I started watching season one on Netflix, I really believe this series was ahead of its time as for police action dramas, even the cinematography had a style all it own. I'm enjoying these old episodes again, really takes me back to my high school days. I can say I haven't watched these since they were re-runs on TNT back in the mid 90's. Seeing all the vintage iron blows me away, grey market AMG MB's & BMW's by the ton.

Lots of young Hollywood involved here, watched an episode with Bruce Willis last night playing a wife beating arms dealer, I think he pulled the roll off quite well.

I've never been to Miami but the all the building development in many of the background shots bring back interesting memories to a lot of the locals & few F-Chatters here as well. Makes me wonder how much has changed since 1984 filming location wise.

I watched 4 back to back episodes on Netflix on a plane. I forgot what a great show it was. Followed those 4 episodes up with 2 Munsters, now that was hysterical.

It looks a little choppy on Netflix. Thankfully I own the box set. One of my old flight attendants was DJ personal assistant for years.

This is a great thread. It was actually thanks to Miami Vice I ended up first visiting the US as a tourist to check out Miami and then eventually settling in Miami during the late 80's. In the UK and Europe the show was very popular and I remember being in Valencia Spain one evening when the whole bar was cleared so everyone could get to see the one small TV where it was showing.

I worked at the Jaguar/Ferrari Collection in Bird Rd for a couple of years and we often used to see at least one white Vice TR in for service. It had a gold Universal sticker on the back I seem to remember. I think I still have some photos so will try and dig up and scan,

My favourite episode is still "definitely Miami" with Ted Nugent where the classic line "even the breeze is hot" is used.

    Disconnected connections.

My wife and son are driving to Miami from here to watch Alabama/Notre Dame. I'm staying here to watch on TV in garage.

The Testarossa lust that was on a poster "way back when" is in this same garage now.

The "stunt double" in MV was often a Pantera based replica. A Pantera sits within view.

Though I should be ashamed to admit this: I miss Shamille. Stop me, please.

So let me say thanks first to letting me know Shamille was gone. Lost about an hour of my life reading the thread from hell.

As for Vice, IMO i think Evan was the quintessential episode. Episodes which focused on the characters pasts were the most enjoyable. I thought when Crockett talked about the pic of the girl in the guys locker room that he regretted not taking down was pretty deep for a cop show. Funny how Mann didn't want Crockett in the movie to have any baggage which I think was what made Johnson's portrayal so much better than Farrels. I honestly didn't care for the characters in the remake. It was all slickness and no meat.

This is a big tune with a great vid! I managed to get it on cd on eBay and it is perfect for a blast in your testarossa!
It would have perfect for the new Miami Vice movie if it had only been better.

Michael Mann must have been a fine artist in another life, remember when he would fade out a scene that was like a still life, with wild riotous colors? Remembering the series the colors stand out.

And it's interesting to see don johnson then vs. the way he looks in DJANGO.

I was disappointed in Miami Vice's much later movie version, where everything was darkly lit and decidedly gloomy.

Whatever happened to the news he was going to direct "Go Like Hell" a movie based on A.J. Baime's book about Ford vs Ferrari at LeMans?
