Looking good Paul! Won't the new glue stick to the old glue, or will the carpet look uneven and lumpy once it's installed?

    Love your work Paul.
Do you know if there are different spinners for various models of Ferrari.
My 512 has what seems identical ones to the ones shown here but only take about 2 full turns to tighten.
I am wondering if spinners or hubs have been changed at some time with incorrect ones. Wheels are correct ones.
    All 4 the same.

2 types. Original is a 3D horse with detail, replacement which is incorrect is an engraved outline of a flat horse that borrani makes.

Cracks me up to see these 4X4ing. They were such a low slung car that to see them up high is amusing.

Dynamat with dynaliner over it before the interior goes back in.

Anodized drip rails on top with painted drip rails mounted under them are in place. Window scrapers are riveted in as well.

Im preparing the quarter windows and gaskets to go back in, the parcel shelf and felt under the dash are next. The trunk felt is almost finished. The front portion of the trunk is cut but needs to be glued in. Once the felt is in under the dash the a/c box will go in followed by the column and dash.

Yours is different than any other though and theres a great reason. The brake cooling ducts are massive and run directly to the front rotors with flexible hoses. They necessitated the shortening of the already shorter BBi grill and moving the flash to pass lights in. I like it and chose to leave it that way since it was done when the car was new. I would like to know where the ducts came from because they look OEM not a one-off. Boxer competitizione part perhaps?

Does all BB's have brake cooling ducts? Does Cibie or Carello flashing lights fit with normal air funnels?

All have an excuse for a cooling duct. Ferrari added a scoop to the rotor shield and under the grill above the scoop is a small oval slot which is the brake cooling duct on a BBi. It leads to an oval slot in the forward inner fender that puts air in the wheel well. How much the rotor sees is anyones guess. The carb cars have a duct mounted in both corners of the grill opening and dump in the same semi-useful location as the BBi. Carb car has carellos, BBi has Cibie and neither effect the ducts except for my ex-BBi with the whopper added-on ducts.

1st pic is a carb car duct.

The rest are my ex BBi. Note original lower inlet duct that BBi's have plus the large one above it that is now the functioning scoop. The flexible ducts you see hanging with no front bumper are what lead to the rotors.

The last pic shows the radar detector box that I found when I removed the bumper. The sound of rocks rattling around inside as I shook it meant it was no good so I tossed it.

    Great pictures, thanks.

My car (512BB) did not have those duct att all, it seems US ligal start for it's life, got rid of these.
For my luck, I was able to find one right side funnel, but left side are no where to find. NOS part for right side does not have any holes, since it it new. I have make mirror copy from existing one and make mold, so I can get full set.

I guess that I haven't seen that view of the grill. I may have just changed my mind!

Darn camera. Flash on or off the carpet looks not so great but take my word for it, the new carpet looks great in person! Ill get better shots in natural light when Im moving things around.

All new heater ducting in all the way to the dash and diverters. Carpets all done. The floor has the correct paper under the floor mats. Quarter glasses are in as well, door jamb covers, step plates, door seals and so on. Rads too of course.

If the plastic is beginning to show signs of age, is it okay to replace or should originality take precedence?

If you replace the carpet and want everything to look fresh then I would replace the plastic while the panels are out.

I so agree. I mean you're busy enough as it is, so we appreciate the extra time to share a process we'd otherwise not be privvy to. Loving the photos, details. You're making me miss my Boxer!
