ex-James Cagney 1934 Auburn 1250 V12 Salon Cabriolet:...
Ooooh... ahhhhhh, Indeed: that looks like one of those fantastic modular turntables that I've been lusting after for my shop! Very nice car too, but if someone could move it out of the way, I could get a better look at it in all it's spinning glory.
Ok, so it's ugly as all Hell. Still, it's an interesting find: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1953-Jaguar-XK120-George-Barris-Barry-Goldwater-/360284419073?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item53e29ff401#v4-37 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, ugly indeed, probably the reason it was kept in a barn for all those years.... Imagine what it would be worth if it was attractive....
E34 BMW 550i 6spd. Looks Interesting. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-535-M5-e34-custom-12-cylinder-/250672947422?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3a5d45a0de

1985 308 GTS, white/black color combo. Unusual first picture in ad. (hard to tell, but the larger version of the pic is probably NWS) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-Ferrari-308-GTS-A-C-1-5-white-built-RARE-/220671351546?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3361099afa
To be honest, I'm not surprised. Ebay was really the wrong venue, but I guess it's just cheap advertising and wide exposure. This car set the style for both the C3 Corvette and the second gen Firebird and was the first in a series of "Banshees." There were actually two of these 1964 cars, this coupe and a convertible. If it weren't for that fact, I'm sure this car would bring even more money. Still, I bet it would de well with the right press and at the right auction venue. Here's the convertible, by the way: http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/96898_1964_pontiac_banshee_convertible/photo_01.html
In general, I would tend to agree with you about the venue and press, but the Banshee was offered at the RM Amelia Island sale earlier this year. Promoted fairly heavily too. It failed to sell at high bid of $325,000 versus the estimate of $400k - 600k. http://www.sportscardigest.com/2010-automobiles-of-amelia-island-auction-results-rm-auctions/
Ah, I didn't remember that. Here's another interesting eBay offering - 1967 Jaguar Pirana by Bertone: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Bertone-Jaguar-Pirana-Only-1-Made-/220677177884?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item336162821c#v4-37 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is very interesting. Here are a few more pictures: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=295702&highlight=Jaguar+Pirana
