I needed to replace my door speakers in my 360 and other than the universal 'see Mike at Scuderia Audio' answer, I had a very hard / impossible time finding an inexpensive DIY solution that didn't require cutting, drilling, etc. Well, I finally found it. And let me be very clear here ... I have nothing negative to say about Scuderia Audio, I have never worked with them, I don't know them, and I am sure they are as great as everyone here says. I simply did not want to spend $1k+ on speaker replacement, especially in a car where the radio is on less than 1% of the time. I wanted a simple DIY plug-and-play option and no thread ever definitively had a solution. Period. That's it.

I purchased a set of Focal ACX 165 S 6.5" 2-Way Coaxial Compact speakers and the install went as easy as you could ever have imagined. Absolutely no cutting, no drilling, no modifications of any kind to the car. It's as if these were made specifically for the 360. I removed the old speaker, clipped the factory plug off, and soldered two new wires (with the appropriate pos/neg clips) to the factory plug. So I now have a factory plug that can plug/unplug from the speaker and/or the door wiring harness.

From there, the speaker slid right into place, the factory grill fit right over that, and I tightened down the screws holding it into place. Even the little plastic protrusion tab that holds the grill into place fit perfectly.

Done. Hope this helps those looking for a cheaper DIY alternative.

same goes for the $89 kenwoods i bought from Best Buy. These cars are super easy to change the speakers on. cant believe more people arent just using "off the shelf" speakers.

Thanks for these low cost solutions but I’m completely satisfied with the Audison-based kit from Scuderia Audio. My car is loud with a Tubi, and at the times I do want to listen to tunes, I can crank it up to overcome the exhaust. Clean sound and excellent imaging.

@348TN Awesome this is great info. I did my door speakers and posted a thread about it last year, but I'm a little bummed I had to cut the door up.

    This would've been perfect.

Remember folks, you can install the cheapest or the most expensive tweeters into your factory black plastic triangles and two things will happen: One, the sound will still shoot out right at the other guys' knees, and you'll have modified your stock triangles and cannot buy replacements. By all means, don't buy 3D printed hyper directional triangles from Scuderia Audio if you can find them cheaper somewhere else, just save your stock triangles for when you sell the car, and mount your new tweeters in such a way that the sound actually fires toward you. Once you hear the kind of imaging this produces, you won't be able to go back.

honestly, ive never had issues with a 2 way coaxial speaker. Thats what i run. there are models that you can adjust the tweeter angle on. I DO agree on the factory tweeter angle being wrong, but not a deal breaker. I still use the factory tweeter even with my 2 ways.

Thanks for the solutions. Good options. Personally, I re-foamed my originals with a kit from Parts Express. Easy and Inexpensive…
