Block your calendars for the weekend of August 18/19, and schedule a baby-sitter More information to come...
It's more than "thinking" -- it's just about fully booked! Conference call with FCA this afternoon will confirm the details, but on a preliminary basis: Weekend getaway to the beach: * Friday banquet * Saturday party * Rally * Lodging * Offshore sport fishing "stuff" (wink) ...etc. Time to stretch the legs of the Boxer. I'll bring a towing strap and tow hook in case we need to drag you home!
Yo Daniel!! Keep me posted on this, PLZ!!! I was just out in Wilmington this past weekend, celebrating a friends birthday!! That's a kick ass party town, with awesome nightlife !! And don't worry about the tow strap, I keep one in my Xterra and have used it a few times!!
The game plan will be to depart your local homestead on Friday Aug 17, and arrive in Beaufort NC (www.inlet-inn.com) that afternoon. We will have a welcome cocktail at the home of a local FCA member, then walk down his personal dock to board three sport fishing boats for a gentle cruise to our dinner restaurant. Saturday will feature some history and shopping for those interested; for others, the day will include up-close-and personal exposure to the sport fishing world (more information to follow!!) Evening includes a catered dinner at our host members home. Sunday is reserved for the drive home -- but as past events have shown, we'll likely make a caravan of the route and stop for some good photo opportunities and unique driving experiences. It'll be hot. It'll be fun. It'll be a chance to ditch the kids and enjoy a weekend with old (and new!) friends. Watch this space and www.fca-nc.com for more information.
Excellent choice of location ... I've been to Beaufort many times (though not in recent years). This sounds like a lot of fun. Lou
Everyone should have received FCA email from Bob, with all the details. I booked my hotel yesterday, and the receptionist said it was 'almost full' for the weekend. No idea quite what that means... Next step: booking a sport fishing charter. Anyone want to come along for the fun?
The inlet Inn is where I stayed on my honeymoon...then on to Ocracoke for fishing. You will really like this area. Of cource, I will not be reliving those memories since my very bitter divorce!!! Try the Beaufort Grocery Store for Dinner, and don't forget to hit the Beaufort Maratine Museum just a few doors down. Finally remember Beaufort is pronounced BO fort in NC, but the beautiful SC costal city is BU fort.
Grrrrrrrr........ I used to date a girl that lived there. Also went there every year with my family...... Grrrrrrrrr
Daniel, I would love to go with you guys to the beach! I haven't received any emails from Bob since joining the FCA...? Can you get my email address to him and have him send me the info please? Or, if you would forward it to me, that would be great!!! Thanks! Hank Carpenter [email protected]
Just got the initial roster. We're up to 25 people. There are still rooms at the hotel (as of this afternoon). After the holiday, I'll get serious about booking the sport fishing. Shoot me an email if you're "in" for that little adventure.
I think we've crossed the 40 attendee mark Bring your Boxer, or bring your Bug... it'll be fun! . (yes, PB, that 'bug' comment is directed toward you)
Hey Daniel, I was just wondering if you still were holding onto the idea of stopping by in Washington for lunch. -Cameron
Hey, do any of you guys have a good-looking (preferably single) daughter/sister/friend you ought to bring along Beaufort to set me up with?? I registered to go with my then-g/f but I have since opted to change that status. I'm 28, my range is 20-34. I'll be there in my red 360 Spider...
Did somebody say hot 24 year old girls? Where? Where? Me first! There are a few of us 'young-uns' on the trip.... don't worry.
