Such an interesting car with such a muted and short lived story. I wonder what went through the minds of the folks at Maranello... The 312P seemed to be a stopgap between the 330 P/4 512 and the 312PB...

I saw a 330P at the Ferrari / Shell Challenge a few years ago. If I remember correctly, it had just been shipped over from EU for the Historic Challenge and Monterey Historics.. Chassis 0872 312P in qualifying had a little shunt with Ferrari 512S 1004 belonging to Dr. John Giordano of Long Island... Minimal damage, but still a moment to remember...

See my comprehensive two part article published in 1997 in Cavallino issues 99 and 101 (a total of 11 or 15 pages can't recall) with interviews of Amon, Andretti, Piper, Forghieri and extensive research into the three cars: 0868, totalled April 69 at Monza by Pedro Rodriguez, 0870 since 1970 in the Bardinon collection in France currently impounded by legal order due to an intra family conflict and 0872 which had been for years in the USA with major collector Peter S (whom I met at Retromobile a few weeks ago) who had it rebuilt as it had been apart for many years. I saw it run at its rebirth at Cavallino 2003. It was then sold to Switzerland and has been actively campaigned at Le Mans Classic, Monza as a Berlinetta and has taken part in the Goodwood hillclimb in both that configuration as well as a spyder. It is fabulous to see and sounds incredibly good. This year alas we will not see it run as it is being taken apart completely to check for cracks, a wise decision. At Retromobile I also met the owner's son and the highly qualified people who take care of the car.

20 years ago on May 1st, after a long drive into deepest central France in the Creuse region, the late Pierre Bardinon opened the gates of Valhalla for me by appointment, pulled out 0870 for my photoshoot to follow up on my Cavallino article: here is a photo from that day, a young yours truly enjoying a day in dream land, a hallowed place to visit, we then had a very pleasant lunch with his family in their rustic kitchen:)

A good friend of mine owns the car. Monumental machine, unreal in the metal! I will take a few photos next week.

He has a fantastic collection and drives all of them (HARD) regularly.

Zooyorker: what you will photograph will look like a giant Lego as it is being taken apart as I mentioned.

Jack: search on Youtube there are several videos, enjoy!

Could very well be, did not check up on it, last time I saw and heard it was this summer. Either way, awesome car!
