The Tipo USA F50s are entirely created by the Ferrari SpA factory including the 3rd brake light which was factory fitment and how the cars arrived from Maranello.

That said I'm not sure what material they used, although I imagine it was a composite type.

I seem to have a love/hate relationship with the color black.

On one hand, I find black is stealthy, elegant, and connotes poise.

On the other hand, I find black ends up hiding a lot of the contours, and the contrast between body paneling and vents.

The pictures above are case in point. If you had a Rosso Corsa juxtaposed, you'd find all sorts of interesting design angles to marvel at.

For a vehicle like the Enzo, the color black is even more challenging to appreciate IMO, as it blends into the beltline at the bottom, which takes away the styling "anchor" that the vehicle otherwise has, which is an important design cue. Yet black Enzo's seem to command a premium to other erstwhile colors, even sometimes those that are Extracampionario. Go figure.

Seeing a black Enzo in the metal is quite different than on pictures. I never met anyone who wasn't deeply impressed right in front of the car...

Totally agree a black Enzo, physically in front of you is a sight to behold.

To me the absolute coolest design feature of the F50 (and F40, and 288) is the black line that crosses the side profile. I just think it's such a cool little design detail, but you can't see it when the cars are painted black, which is a bummer. The cool thing about the Brunei black GTO was that they painted it red and 'inverted' the paint scheme, but it seems the new owner painted it black again, which is a shame.

Does anyone know anything about ZFFTA46B000098054 or ZZFFTA46B000098170? Both are prototypes but don't have standard chassis numbers. This is a picture of 98170 I believe.

Those wheels were never used before or after being used on the F50 prototypes and mules, right?

98170 is a five digit number, hence no "10" as you call it.

OMG, I remember 104007 very well, I sold this car 23 May 1996 to Georg Loos (GELO Racing Team, Cologne, Germany). Georg and I did this deal at 2 am in the La Romantica, an outfit full of Russian beauties in Melide (near Lugano), Switzerland. He was a bit distracted, if my memory is correct.
Anyway, it took him a while to come up with the money, but in the end it worked (with help of my lawyers and the support of some Moscow Collection members).
    Fun time.
(Georg Loos owned two F50s, the other was 105774. He also owned four F40s.)

Marcel, you must publish a book titled "Confessions of a Ferraristi", a connoisseur's collection of all your automotive stories - fictitious names may be used.

BTW, the latest time I have done a Ferrari Supercar deal is at 12.30am, so your record remains safely intact.

I have no problem with the black per se, that said I find the blacked-out windows and lowered suspension to be trying too hard to make this car badass, any F50 is that already.
