    holy **** !!

well the argument will be that these are usa versions, with low mileage, and presumably impeccable provenance.....
but, nevertheless, i believe these might be record prices.....

    vindicated....again ;)

by the way, to all you lucky guys who bought one earlier this year....no matter what you paid, you made a good deal. congratulations !

now let me quickly call hagerty to adjust my coverage.... ;)

no. right now, with this latest price rise for the cream of the crop, it brings the f40 back into the right relationship with the other 4, and many other cars out there.
but again, that is just my opinion of the moment.

now i think some cars are getting over valued. like the CLK GTR, or the Countach, or the Diablo, the bugatti EB110, even the Mac F1 is starting to become ridiculously high.
but that is the subject of a different thread.

The problem is you only ever see that gain, whatever it may be, if you sell the car.........and then you no longer own an F40! catch 22

I’m interested to see how many F40s will be made available for sale over the next 12 months, surely any weak holders will be tempted to sell? The question is, are there any weak holders???

maybe....but as a car, they are crap.
i looked at buying one many years ago, and it was no better than a backyard kit car, with impossible constant maintenance issues.

When a run of the mill 15k mile first gen Murcielago gets auctioned for $440k, yes Diablos are still quite underrated and undervalued.

Will respectfully disagree as a long time owner. You might have seen a particularly run down version unfortunately. You are more than welcome to come to West Houston and see my Roadster.

To me there seems to be a clear relationship between how small a supercar is compared to its value/desirability......

Hey Ross, don't you know that this particular F40 Automatic was especially built for Enzo Ferrari's personal use?..........
