So the roof is gloss black wouldn’t it look better to have the wheels match the top in gloss black?
My GLE has Satin wheels and Midnight package, which is nothing else than gloss black details. Not sure why they also had some matt black items, I hate chrome. I think they are some instances that chrome is acceptable. So I had all matt black, chrome and sliver items painted gloss black, the wheels stayed Satin.(I also had my son's C300 also blacked out all chrome). I like the combination. In my opinion, I don't think gloss black wheels would look as good as Satin black, regardless of the roof. Although, seems like gloss wheels are coming back. It is a matter of personal preference.
That isn't necessarily true. The satin ones clean just as "easy", maybe just as any other wheel finish. The only thing is true is that gloss black requires more care and maintenance just as a gloss black car; they get lackluster and require polishing and special care. I love the black color on a car but it is unforgiving with light scratches, stains, "web" marks and swirl marks. You essentially become a slave of gloss black. After washing and taking care of my CLS, I don't even want to drive it because of how much work it requires.
I have had gloss black wheels on the Performante and F8 and they do not discolor and they are very simple to keep clean. And unlike a car's paint, there are no swirl marks on wheels. Had them ceramic pro applied and the dirt rolls off.
Indeed, ceramic coating makes it easy to clean and lasts longer. Downside, it is a little pricey and it has to be reapplied about every 3 years.
Someone at my cars and coffee today took this picture I like this angle it really highlights the curves of the car. The F8 is one of the most beautiful cars Ferrari has made in the modern era. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agree. Black wheels are overplayed although they do suit certain cars (and wheel designs). In the case of this F8 spec with those wheels, silver looks best to my eyes.
I try I really do...I have gone into every Porsche car I have had thinking this is a keeper for a while...even cars I ordered with the options I wanted...1-2 years later...gone!...on to something else...LOL. My 488 is my 1st Ferrari. I have had it now for 10 months. No signs as of right now on trading it or selling it. The election and Covid has slowed business down so I am staying out with vehicles for now and will see what next year brings.
