The 550 maranello is the greatest car ever.

Whilst on a short drive with the 550 yesterday evening and after driving other interesting cars of different flavours in the last month it occurred to me that the 550 was not just the greatest car in the world but also the easiest-going automotive monument ever made. My F355 feels like a rollecoaster and it is immense fun once on song but it just takes sitting in the 550, starting it up and getting going to realise it's IT... what is genuinely epic about it is that it is not even trying.

 

Got a brief drive in a 575 last spring, but really would love to swap seat time with my 456 to feel the difference in balance and performance of a 550. I love my 456 as a GT car and enjoy spirited but legal(ish) driving. Makes me wonder back to back how different they feel in real world driving.

 

My 550 with FHP, unobtainium Eibach race springs and a proper exhaust set up feels like relentless soft porn...

That looks like 25 vs 30mm spacer in the rear (hard to tell from a single photo given the angle and camber).
10 vs 15 in the front

My views? What a total waste of great cars this is. The dimensions don't look right to me for starters. 1.6 million is a total joke when you can get a much, much more accurate, truer to the real thing 250 SWB build by GTO Engineering in the UK using mostly traditional methods for nearly half that.

 

The 250 SWB is my #1 car of all time. I'd take it over any other car, from any period. My opinion is that this thing looks like a cheap knock off. Absolutely hideous IMO. And the fact they are chopping up 550's to do it is even worse.

 

Hard to believe they didn't build them like this in the first place. The spacers make it look correct. I put 25mm on mine and it looks so much better.

 

Yes if you have a good reason and flag as inappropriate and draw the attention of a moderator ie tag a mod

I don't, unfortunately. I'll have to take it out for some more. It's just come in to autumn/fall and that same spot looks fantastic at this time.
