You have 100.000,- Euros. Which car would you buy? (for a third car in your garage) New, used, vintage, race, street, brand...or whatever please tell me. Only 1 car don`t split the budget!
A slightly used 911 Turbo (996) A slightly used 911 Carrera S (997) A very slightly used 360 Modena A slightly used 575 Maranello A new BMW M6 A new BMW M5 A new Dodge Viper SRT A new Mercedes S500 (Short wheel Base)
Ooooh, This is a difficult question! As you know I have always had trouble with choosing from the sweeties store. I need to think about this! Damn.....there are a couple of nice opportunities!
With 100,000 you wouldn't buy too much in the vintage Ferrari market, but here is my choise: 250 GT Boano (which needs to be restored) or 250 GT PF Coupé (with work).
for some decent trackdays: http://www.capristo.be/racing/index.asp just because i could not afford to run a 355 challenge on the road...
Hmm I would probably save the money untill I had some more... to buy one of those Ferrari's I want the most Really a tough question...... But I choose a Dino 246 GT or GTS... not sure
WOLFIE I WOULD SELL THE TR, BUY A 94 512TR AND THEN POCKET THE CHANGE FOR MAINTENANCE, RACING UPGRADES, AND TOYS FOR THE CAR.. I KNOW YOU LOVE THE TR STYLE AND SO DO I... THATS WOULD I WOULD DO... YOUR AMERICAN FRIEND, BRUCE
This is not easy since I have to make some assumptions: - The thread is in the Europe section and the price is Euros, so I assume I'd be living in Europe and drive the car in Europe. I'm not nitpicking here, since this has some serious implications: My dream cars in Europe are different from my dream cars in the US simply based on what everybody else drives. Over here a German car might be considered hip, whereas in Europe a big US car might be cool. - I don't know the Europian market prices as well as the US, so I can only assume they're somewhat similar. - Since Wolfgang asked this question I define Europe as continental Europe and exclude Britain where AFAIK the regulations to cars are much more easy going (similar to the US) than what German TUEV or Swiss FMK demands. That has a direct impact on what cars are in or out (e.g. no F40 in Switzerland). - Wolfgang mentions the 3rd car, which would be precisely my situation. So I have my basic Ferrari needs already covered. Ok, nuff foreplay. One car, in addition to my existing Ferrari, 120k US, German TUEV made for German consumption. Ford GT ...and if TUEV is not the issue: Ford GT40 replica from Southafrica
@nasharty, the Doge Viper SRT is an awesome great & funny toy - but sadly still a truck without any italian blood. My neighbour bought one and its one of the most amazing sounding cars I have ever heared. @Simon, Countach LP400......the Diablo SV, yellow is stil on the list and within the budget of 100K. Stratos.......I love to drive and not repair, same to the "rough" Daytona. @Roel, Alfa Romeo 1900SSZ.....mhmmm......i get headache...I hate you to reminde me on this car Brilliant input. And yes, ONLY 100K @trkevin, YES, the 250PF is on the list!!! Thanks @Tina, "probably save the money" NO! I wanna have fun right now @tridente78, Maserati could be on the list but only the ´50th and early ´60th if its within the budget. @Bruce, thanks bros yes I do love the TR styling but..........pfffff, its not easy at all.
"For a third car" (that's what you say) it would definately has to be a race/track car!!! I would go for a Radical SR8!!!! http://www.radicalextremesportscars.com/2006_literature/SR8_lealfet_2006.pdf 2.6l V8, 360BHP, 600KG kerb weight, 10.500 RPM, 2G cornering,.... I know you want one Wolfgang!!!
@Andrea, tifosi12 wow, great input with the GT40 and great reading. I saw the real yellow GT40 Le Mans from Jim G. last year in NY........out of budget and the replica.....mhmmmmmm....?!?! Thanks a lot for your opinion - a european/swiss gent living in the usa knows what he is talking about
