Caught a rerun today. Recording it to watch later: https://www.motortrend.com/plus/detail/custom-cut-f430-ferrari/5275880/ Haven’t seen the outcome yet, but some of y’all might want to watch them chop one up. I don’t care for the show in general or trust people with flat brim hats to take cars apart without breaking something but figured I’d waste a few minutes here and post up in case anybody else was interested. Is this anybody here?
I believe it was on last week- might be a two part series. Last week they put an air tank in the frunk and made a custom front bumper and skid plate, that looked OK. I note the F430 is on again right now and I believe the episode is a repeat.
Yup - was a repeat… struck me how often they said the word “Ferrari” - the name definitely has cachet! Kevin
Just finished the episode. Man, they hacked that bumper up. Definitely not an improvement. Looked very 90’s import scene on a budget.
The Motortrend shows are now on Discovery Plus if you have that. It showed up recently and I started watching Texas Metal from the beginning since Im in Houston. They do some nice work even if a lot of it isn't to my taste.
I wouldn't mind having the folks at Texas Metal, Iron Resurrection, or Shorty's Garage. You are fortunate to have so many good car builders near you.
Ok. Just finished watching the episode. The mods aren’t my cup of tea, but if the owner likes them then great. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Was that the black f430? If I was the owner, I would have bought a spare front bumper for them to chop up instead of my OEM one. Looks like they added 40lbs of fiberglass.. Naaaa Just lower it and put some tasteful wheels on it.
FWIW- Last night on Iron Resurrection, shortly before 9 PM, there was a short segment featuring a yellow F430 that had been sitting in Joe's garage for years and the guys surprised him by putting on new wheels, tires, and a timing belt. It was a bit distressing to see the guy installing the new belt- a real Bubbah type. But at least he did comment that if he were off by even 1 tooth, the engine would be toast.
If it was a 430, it would only be a serpentine belt. No issue with being off a tooth as the 430 uses a timing chain.
Good point. I don't believe it was a 360, but I was flipping channels and didn't see but a half minute.
I saw it too. It was a 360. They had the seats out and the firewall open to replace the belts. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
