Interesting, didn't know that. However, mine were the originals. When I tightened down the rail closest to #12, it decided to keep turning before it got all the way down. I may have said something in French. Then I pulled it off to see a really shiny place where threads used to be.

    Shamile,
Man I've been away for awhile (my 358 project) and look what you've got yourself into. It makes me tire just looking at the girls. Good luck and I'll try to follow this.

    John

PS. I should note that I bought the black carpet kit and it is on the list to install in the TR soon (I hope).

    Dear Ferraristi,

Finally ..."no more wire hangers..." umm well...no more yellow clips!

The other meter unit goes in....

OK....put the meter unit on FIRST before you put the throttle body on. You'll have to remove it in order to get the torque wrench on the meter body nuts & bolts.

When I removed the throttle body....new wave washers....again.

OK...fuel distribution system assembly complete....gee...that only took all of Sunday...

    Dear Ferraristi,

Can someone please post a picture showing the routing position of the accelerator cable. I'm replacing mine as it has a kink and I want to make sure it goes in the correct position.

    Thanks....

Thanks Shamile! I have used your pictures (of the car) extensively while I have had the engine out.

I also want to 2nd Shamile's post regarding the hose that burst on him (see post #4). I had the same hose burst 3 years ago and replaced it with a hose from Advance Autoparts. I was surprised to see that the replacement hose was ready to let go already. After less than 4K miles. Wow.

    Dear Ferraristi,

    " of the car" ....bawhahaha...what?? :D

Well, I won't ever have this problem again! I'm switching EVERYTHING to the Dave Helms Scuderia Rampante hose.

Thanks Kerry. I was given that website from Norwoods Performance. I couldn't find the yellow nylock nuts. For the rest, I've found Fastanall a really good choice. I have all the part numbers for all the washers bolts, cap screws I've used. I'll put it all up and where it goes on the cross reference thread...as soon as I get some time.

I know you won't like this but it's from my Fpimp, Ferrari of Central Florida. The "3" clip is $ 4.85 ea and the "4" is $ 6.35 ea. The "2" is no longer available....but, just cut down a "3" with a super sharp utility knife (so you won't see the cut line).

    Dear Ferraristi,

Well...I tried to put the complete assembly back as a unit but I found it much easier to pull the distributor heads back off and put the throttle body units/ meter bodies back first.

Normally I would have never done this. I wouldn't want to even imagine what consequences there would be pulling off the distributor. But...since I've taken the whole thing apart now, and know what's there....it's no biggie. Alright....timing belts here I come ! :D

...putting the rubber vibration dampeners back

...new bolts with anti seize on the coolant sensor casting

    ...torque to spec

With the meter / throttle bodies in place, you can now slide back the coolant hose into position. I can't emphasize enough the use of "Silglide". Without it, you would never be able to slide the hose all the way up and down the aluminum coolant pipe with absolute ease and no scarring of the inner liner on the coolant hose.

    Dear Ferraristi,

With the fuel distributor in place, we can now move ahead with the fuel pressure regulator.

The regulator bracket is bolted down on the same stud that holds down the intake manifold. Since I wanted to make sure the intake was torqued down properly, I bolted everything on the intake down without the bracket for the regulator.

Since the regulator aligns itself with the hard fuel pipe off the fuel distributor, I didn't want to put the regulator and bracket in place without the proper alignment....and then have to move it around after the fact.

When it came time to put the bracket on, I undid the one intake nut. I put the regulator on, attached the hard fuel line and then tightened with a NEW NUT & WAVE WASHER on the intake and down to proper torque spec.

    Dear Ferraristi,

...attaching the main fuel line at the distributor and fuel filter.

I didn't know if this is proper, but I put some anti seize on the injector threads. I made ABSOLUTELY sure nothing went beyond the upper part of the thread that could make it's way to the injector.

...tighten down the injector to the fuel rail

Once the injectors are attached to the fuel rail, make sure nothing is rubbing..from the fuel rail, intake, regulator and main fuel line.

    Dear Ferraristi,

...fuel line and injectors done on the 7/12 side

...attach the hoses to the cold start system

...as far as I can go.

I just got the proper hose that goes off to the heater lines, so now I can fill the coolant system, pressure test and see if all's OK

I can't move on the 1/6 side till that little hose is signed off. It sits right under the fuel regulator and would be more difficult to turn the hose clamp screw if I tried to move to fast.

Patience is a Testarossa virtue... :D

    Kerry, All,

Suggest you forget the Ferrari ones unless you are Concoursing. Even then I doubt most judges could tell the difference as they are very minute.

The P-Car equivilants are MUCH more robust thus less prone to break, cost less and look almost exacly like the Ferrari cheap a$$ed POS.

The B*W ones are even better operationaly BUT they connect the plastic fuel lines and not the metal tubes like the Ferrari and P-Car ones do.

    Just offering alternatives.
