I knew I was bad resurrecting such an old post, but I didn't think it would get Batman on my case. It looks like I am right up there with the Penguin.

Beautiful car and great photos. However, you need more crap on your key chain. :)

Sorry to necro this thread, but I'm new here and I just had some questions.

For current owners, how do the upkeep costs compare? I'm really interested in a 512, but I'm wondering if the upkeep is way beyond that of the earlier Testarossa.

For the record, I'm looking for a 512, and I've honestly never owned a car before. Any insights here?

    Thanks :)

I would think the upkeep is the same for a TR vs. 512TR -both require an engine out service every 5 years or 30,000 miles(~$8K - 10K USD).

The cost of upkeep is related directly to how well each of the cars were maintained in the past.

The lesson is to buy the very best one you can, that has been maintained well and has the records to go with it.

Ironic, the basic service runs under $1k in parts, the rest is in overpriced labor. If you can do the work yourself, $10k buys alot of new ferrari parts.

The difference is night and day the original is slow clumsy to drive to say nothing about the fiat breaks unless there is a monetary or sentimental reason 512 tr
is a way better car had a 512 and drove an original no comparison .
