Needs a roof scoop and more aggressive front spoiler.

unfortunatly it says nothing about the hp or torque

a testarossa is never a race car, to much weight. but nevertheless it will be fast on a track with the right brakes and of course turbo powered like my competition :) :) :)

Too much weight and the CG was way too high. Never make a good race car.

Waste of a perfectly good road car.

Smartly equipped with AP Brakes, Penske remote tank coilovers, fire suppression system and a MoTec engine management system. Love it. Plenty of torque, 400 horses is more than enough for a viable track car. HP lets you be sloppy, this would keep you honest as a driver.

With the fuel cell in the front it needs the engine shifted forward with a transaxle. It might be enough room to get the axles behind the engine.

    Center of gravity.

Boxer and TR both with the engine sitting so high always had handling issues.

Flat 12 F1 cars had the crankshaft just a little higher than your ankle.

This would be a great track car for a slow guy (like me). I wonder about the back story - you do this if you have a trashed Testarossa laying about, not a nice, complete one.

    Curious as to the price.

Would be cool to show up at a track day in this, but fear it’s going to be a bit expensive for a track toy (for me at least). Too many cool cars, not enough garage space…

Ferraris make decent fun track car but not good racecar. First too slow in every race class for lots of reasons. Second even in non- contact racing every weekend someone is wrecked. Racevlong enough and it's your turn. I average one wrecked car every 10 years. That does not include the minor stuff like a fender that's unobtainable or $10,000 vs. A junkyard vette fender in my car's color for 200 bucks. Third Ferrari drive trains expensive to rebuild. We already spend 10k on chevy motors.

But they are great track cars if you want and like to drive a Ferrari at something like 8/10 ths keeping it on the track and away from drivetrain limits...spirited and fun...minimal risk.

Even William Hubble who had a great deal of racing experience said his TR track car had very unforgiving handling. The power unit design was a very real limiting factor in the factory race cars. Its too heavy and too high.

For a dedicated track car there is no good reason not to use a Corvette, BMW or Porsche. Lots of potential, lots of support, lots of good off the shelf parts. Huge performance per dollar and when you break it or crash it its not a huge expensive ordeal.

As much as I like TR as street cars any of the cars I listed will leave a TR like its painted on the wall on a track.

Truer words never spoken, well put, esp the 10 year thing..
Spend enough time on track and these words ring tue.
There are those who have yet to hit the wall, and those who have hit the wall.
    It is inevitable.

but yeah who wouldn't want to drive some cool honed ferrari on track, just for the sheer joy fun and sound of it.
