I just started looking at my new testarossa. I expect to change the oil myself as a starting small task, but I can't find a reasonable oil filter. The Ferrari ones are in the $50+ range (which puts the profit inthe $40+ range.. My 246Gt used a Fram with a check valve in it. Is there a cross reference for the Testarossa one?

    Yoiks,

Can it be that difficult to call K&N etc and have one commissioned. We should have enough owners in the group. A case of 12 each and they have a start on a production run. Is there anything that anyone knows about the filter which precludes copying it?

Why not post this question as its own thread. We should try to keep this cross reference thread as tidy as possible with cross reference material only..

These switches are no longer available from the factory. Used switches tend to run several hundred dollars and still break. The OEM phenolic sliders tend to crack and break. Our new sliders are durable aircraft grade 6061 aluminum and are cut using a water-jet. The switch housing is drilled and tapped so the switch can be reassembled with all stainless steel hardware.

Check a demonstration on this repair at:

Call P4 by Norwood and ask for Tim for more info on this A/C switch repair at #214-317-2762

Gets a definite "maybe OK" IMO -- the thread size (1-12) and the gasket ID and OD are OK. I didn't record the physical ID and OD of the UFI 2319202 filter case (but if anything the NAPA looks shorter in the photos). The only things missing in the specs that I'd like to know are the maximum recommended working pressure and the minimum burst pressure. I'd also like to compare the total area of the circular inlet holes just to make sure it's in the same ballpark as the UFI.

For that price, maybe I'll buy 2 and dissect one ;)

I was thinking the same thing, but I dont have an old OEM to compare it to. I will leave that to you if ya volunteer my friend? And Im sure you will update your findings ASAP so we can start saving some $$$$$ ?????

Disappointing news on the NAPA 1774 oil filter (which fits a 400 in^3 Ford diesel in a New Holland Tractor per NAPA) for a TR. Although all of the mounting features are OK, there are two differences that make it too big a risk to use IMO without more testing/information:

    1. Inlet area on the NAPA 1774 is only ~73% the size of the UFI 2319202. The NAPA has six .312" inlet holes while the UFI has eight 8mm inlet holes, and

    2. The pressure specs seem marginal. NAPA supplied a maximum recommended working pressure spec of 100 psi and a minimum burst pressure spec of 430 psi. Don't have the values for the UFI, but, for reference, the Baldwin B253 has a maximum recommended working pressure spec of 300 psi and a minimum burst pressure spec of 600 psi. I have a suspicion that my TR's oil pressure gauge reads a little high, but I don't like the lack of margin and the UFI definitely feels "huskier".

    All,

I made a spreadsheet and populating it with all the info that members have posted. I myself always have trouble finding an inportant part number post when I need it, so here goes.

I hope that this gets posted and can be a sticky on this forum. For the mods, if you can make this available for all to be able to update it online I think it could be a good reference. Maybe page 1

I hope this uploads and works.

    Cheers

Now if we can keep it up as a live document to add things to instead of always uploading time after time. It would be nice to have it viewable online too!!!!

I had a bad ac compressor. I could find no cross reference We found a direct replacement.

I took the original to a napa warehouse and started looking thru boxes.

FRIGETTE # 204-877 $430 If you go to Frigette web site they do not show this number for a TR(they show no match). All I know is that upon physical exam, it fit fine. Mine is 88.5 TR

Got a dryer from GT Car parts $160 shipped.
