You've missed some out. My list: VM 3015 Blue VM 3171 Red VM 3218 Beige VM 3234 Sabbia VM 3282 Dark blue VM 3393 Grey VM 3997 Cream VM 4208 Beige VM 846 Beige VM 8500 Black Note three different shades of beige (and VM 3234 is also sometimes referred to as beige rather than sabbia). I can't differentiate them for you offhand. Jonathan
Robert - I will add to your list with a Bianco/Rossa example. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beige in Italian covers a lot of ground as it does in English. The early 3218 is what most of us think of and was used for years. The 4208 was the subject of a service bulletin in 5-90 and was adopted after car 80231. It is noted as being different in color and tone.
Does anyone know the English names for the carpets. I'm always wondering about this. My car has a deep blood red carpet, nearly maroon. I've seen examples with a much brighter red, similar to the bianco/rossa example posted up by Curtis earlier. This appears to be a very different red to mine yet I only see one Rossa carpet listed. I wonder what Testa di Moro and Bruciato mean?
The blue TR photo listed as 'FER 506/C Blu Medio Metallizzato' is my car and it's actually 'Blu Chiaro MET. FER 503/C'. It's a 1989 with dark blue carpets and dash, and light blue seats. Interesting Thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good work Paul, thanks for the correction. It's a shame that editing only lasts for 60 minutes. I'd really like to go back to each of those pictures and put in the Italian text or do the correction as the owners come up and correctly identify the car.
No problem, thanks for posting my car (always nice to stumble across a photo of it). TRs looks great in any color (I'm especially attracted to that silver one). Great thread!
bruciato burnt bruciato scorched bruciato smell of burning bruciato charred bruciato combust bruciato singed I assume the context of meaning to be either burnt (orange/brown/gold) or charred (as in charcoal) Testa di Moro = Head of Moor> Moro , adjective, dark ,noun, masculine Moor; (negro) black "Head of Black" or "Blackhead"-------- like Testarossa=Redhead, Testa di Moro=Blackhead?
Another note when looking at carpet. The black carpet in my old yellow 308 was faded to dark midnight blue. I thought it actually came with the dark blue until I removed some covers and panels and found the unexposed carpet and it's true color of black.
Testa di Moro is dark brown. My old Italian teacher (god bless her....) translated it as "Beaver Brown"!
Thank you. I was relying on computerized translation service which can be notorious for inaccuracies.
Here is one in 100 Bianco with 3282 Dark Blue interior. I have seen a couple of cars with the light blue but this is one of two I have ever seen in Bianco with dark blue. In person it looks a little darker, almost "Navy". Looking through the windows most confuse it with black. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
All of this info is just great except I can't seem to source a small can of ready mixed VM3218 BEIGE so I can do some minor touch-up.. The closest I've gotten is some guy's cell phone number that works out of the back of a truck that mixes it by eye on the spot. With today's technology I can't believe there isn't anyone in this country with a spectrometer that can mix up a pint of accurate color for me. SEM color charts don't match it either.
I'm not much for blue interiors but I could live with that dark blue. It's a nice alternative to black. When I was shopping for a TR a couple of years ago I found one that was (Blue) Chiaro outside with Navy/Creme inside, dark dash, carpets & console with light seats & upper door panels. Nice looking combo.
Here's a photo of a bianco on tan TR that's owned by a friend of mine who's a member here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46081362@N07/5221914741/sizes/l/ Speaking of bianco Testarossas, does anyone know how many were produced by the factory?
Can I add this carpet colour. I dont know its name and I have not seen it on the interior of any other Testarossa. Its in the boot. P Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's another interesting combination: It looks different to Jeff's old car, but interior appears to be crema / nero Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another blue metalic car with crema seats and tan carpets this time: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And this is a bit extreme: Bianco with bianco leather and nero carpets and dash. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This blue TR was sold this week (15-12-2010) at an NL auction for only € 22.307,00 ....... (ugly antenna!) Image Unavailable, Please Login
