    Hey guys!

Wanted to run this issue by you.
My friends Testarossa is not starting, and we are trying to source the problem.

The car does not start, and we have indetified that it is fuel related, not spark.
Engine will run on start gas, so it is definately fuel related. Plugs look fine as well.

There is pressure in the fuel rails into the fuel distributor and the pumps are running.
So it is from there and out obviously.

Can there be some electrical issue making this happen?
We have found there to be an issue with a Bosch relay, can that be related?

All info accepted with gratitude, thanks!

Please confirm the engine family -- F113A040 (US version KE-Jet with Lambda) or F113A (euro version K-Jet without Lambda).

When you say "The car does not start", do you mean:

    1. The starter motor spins the engine, but it never fires/coughs at all, or
    2. The starter motor spins the engine and it coughs a little but never gets running, or
    3. The starter motor spins the engine, and it kind of gets running but very weakly and won't rev up, or
    4. The starter motor spins the engine, and it fires up, but dies after running OK for a few~10 seconds.

If it is #1, that really doesn't correspond with having spark and the fuel pumps running as the engine should at least initially cough at cold start-up on the fuel delivered by the cold start injectors (even if the protection relay is not working).

#2 and #3 are more consistent with having spark and the fuel pumps running, but the protection relay not working.

#4 is the symptom for the tachometric relay not working.

    Please clarify your symptom.

    Hello Steve!

It's 2. It does not start, and will only cough a little. Guessing it will initially get some gas.
He has tried with start gas in the intake, and it will catch and run until start gas is used up.

It is definetively not 4, so I think the culprit is the relay.

    Is it this relay?
Is it possible to source from somewhere?

No, that's a tachometric relay used in the air injection system. See this thread, post #30, for how to test the protection relay:

If you do need a new one you should be able to get one from Ricambi America or one of the Porsche parts suppliers (like Pelican Parts):
    Ferrari PN 61766200 or
    Stribel PN 92861512402
(it has a replaceable 10A fuse)
