    My daughter is leaving nyc for nj and wants tesla model y. Is there still rebate for tesla? I thought rebates expire for ev after company sells certain amount cars. Dealer says no state sales tax in nj and 5k rebate in addition. Seems too good to be true. Lease is 0 down and 500 month for 3 yrs. Lotta value there if true. Anyone know for sure

    There is no longer a federal rebate for Tesla. The $5k is a NJ state Rebate. Only valid on cars with an MSRP under $55k though. The other bonus is that no inspection is required for EVs in NJ (and also no stupid giant ass inspection sticker on the windshield!)

    thats great info thanks. Y stickers right around 55k depending on options. i wonder if the rebate depend on base sticker or options. getting color red is 2k option that can put it over 55k. definitely not worth total 7k to get red. thanks again
