    Hi,

    As you are a Bimmerfile I thought you would enjoy this 2002 original Baur conversion that showed up at the Raad event. The owner put the original engine in storage and has done an M3 engine transplant. The best of both worlds.

    Hi,

    This Camaro caught my attention. It was bought by the owner in the US, shipped to Iran and is still owned by him. It was as if it came out of a timewarp. I think the only un-original items are the tires and battery.

    Hi,

    Many thanks for the kind words. I thought I would follow-up with a report on our two day classic mountain tour. After our last rally (see earlier post) which was 950Km in 48 hours, the guys asked for something with a more relaxed tempo.

    As a result, on the 27 and 28th of September we arranged a two day mountain tour of classic cars. The destination was from the capital Tehran to Dizin, an internationally recognized ski resort. One of the best aspects, is the fact that the roads are an enthusiasts delight, with twists and turns across the way. Providing plenty of opportunity to up-shift, downshift and even a couple of high speed runs.

    As the weather was great, some of our guys wanted to bring their vintage bikes.

    As motorcycles over 250cc need special permits (long story), the Tehran Province branch of the Motorcycle and Automobile Federation arranged all the permits and also took care of all the logistics, hotel booking etc. Kudo’s to them as they did a fantastic all round job.

    We started at 10am on the morning of the 27th. After pre-tour meeting where the rules and the route were explained we started. When we reached the outskirts of Dizin near one of the mountain tops we stopped for a boxed lunch, which was provided via one of our sponsors, "Plack" a well known take away fast food chain, which was also a sponsor of our Tehran-Anzali rally.

    After lunch and tea, we arrived at the Hotel Dizin, which is one of the best hotels in the region at around 3pm. After a quick rest, some of the guys went to explore the area while other gathered around the cars and bikes and "bench raced" until late at night.

    The next day after breakfast we took some group photo's and then headed back to Tehran. On the way, we took a tea break at one of the well known local restaurants.

    As I mentioned, motorcycles over 250cc have to have special permits to be ridden. We had everything from Harleys to Honda 750-4's . Car wise, we had everything from American muscle (Baldwin Motion Camaro, 69 Mach, Dodge Charger etc.) to European classics Fiat 131 Abarth, Mercedes Pagoda etc. I hope you enjoy the photo’s.

    Hi,

    Hitting the road. THis 69 MAch 1 just came out of restoration. It has been a bit restomodded with 17 inch Bullet style wheels, huge 4 wheel Wilwood disk brakes and a 351 Windsdor that has been stroked to 392 inches with Cam, headers etc. It turned heads everywhere it went.
