I am looking at the 348/355 spider version and I am 6'2" . My question is on the operating mechanicals of the 355 with the seats moving forward when lowering the top with my long legs (wear 34" length pants). Do you that own these cars have an opinion on this question.
    Thanks,
    Don

Don, the 348's have a manual top so you would be out of the car (or next to it) when lowering or raising the top. The seats also slide forward and back with a small lever under the seat front. I'm 6' and keep the seat a bit forward so the driving position would give you plenty of room as well.

You don't sit "way back" in an Italian exotic like you do in a Chevy Suburban. Instead, I sit with my knees up almost to the leather bolster, race style.

With the 348, tall people (I'm 6' 2") need to add a 1" or 2" spacer to the steering wheel. This changes the position of the steering wheel (moves it up and toward your chest which gives more knee room and puts your arms in a much more comfortable position).

I don't know the implications of adding such a steering wheel spacer to airbag equipped cars, however. Not an issue for 348s!

I'm 6'1 and don't even need the seat all the way back.. the steering spacer helps for getting in and out of the car but the actual driving position is no problem

I'm 6'4.5". I have the seat all the way back in my 348 and I added the steering wheel spacer and changed the steering wheel. Ingress and egress (sp?) is a lot easier now.

My head would touch the targa top if I sat perfectly straight in the seat.

Recently I switched to the carbon ss seats and they are lower and have a thinner back. The fit is now perfect.

Thanks for all the input. I am 190 pounds so my width should not be a problem. What kind of steering wheel did you change to and did you add the spacers or do it at the shop?
    Thanks

    I am 6' 1" with a 32" leg and I find them both liveable.

A 348 spider is OK, but a 348 TS, if you have the roof panel stored behind the seats, is unuseable for me.

355's are all OK IMHO and I did not need to do anything to the steering wheel placement.

    I'm 210 with a 36 inch waste.

Installed the steering wheel and spacer myself.

Dude you've got some short legs for a 6'1 frame!! Are you sure those 32 inch jeans aren't too short? ;)

If you are 6'2 you will have a hard time operating the power top on the 355, I have solved this problem with a wireless remote. Here is the link so you can check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOtLqLrJAIY

    Eyboro,
Great video!! So, where did you buy the remote? This should be standard on any Ferrari Spider.

I am also 6,2 and I fit in just fine, no need to put the seat all the way back either. When my roof is off, I simply leave at home. I like it better that way.

I'm 6'2 and just bought a 355 Spyder. I need to be out of the car when working the top otherwise I'm squished like a trash compactor. They are marginal for our height. I looked at Testarossa's and decided against one based on the leg room. The 355 is going to be OK if you get out to raise or lower the top. Your knees are going to be up along the steering column when driving; doable but not great comfort.

6'3", currently 260, hoping to be down to 240 in a month or two, not really fat, more like just a big boy. 40 waist, 32-34 inseam. 348 spider fits me fine after installing the steering wheel spacer, although after a couple of hours I get fanny fatigue due to the narrowness of the seats. Hard top and targa top were pretty much a nogo.
