http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ LET'S GO DRIVERS! Saturday and Sunday, Who's comming? It's just around the corner. Bring your video, We'll supply the beautiful noise.
David-Are you taking the famous route from Upstate SC..If so, I may jump on with you. I have not driven that road in the Ferrari. -Jay
Mmmmm... turtle stew. Thanks for inviting us to dinner Rob! Cameron and I had a great time and look forward to DRIVING next week. -Daniel
Turtle stew? Is that what Cameron had? That was pretty slick of me, to invite you to dinner and then you picked up the tab. Thanks again for a great time. We enjoyed it as well and look forward to the trip up the mountain for even more fun. Rob
Jay, hwy 28 is an awesome drive, at the very least, lets take 64 to Highlands, then up 28 or, I may take the entire route down from the Dragon and stay in the Highlands overnight. Check out the old edwards inn, 60m spent on 30 rooms-a mojor renovation.
I'm on call that weekend so I'm stuck in town, anybody want lunch in Franklin (between Highlands and the Gap) let me know, MY TREAT! Decent BBQ place right on the way.....
Uro, I 'm trying to talk the guys into driving HWY 28 from Highlands, at least on the way back, it's a great drive as you know. Tell them how awesome it is and perhaps they will come.
28 is a FABULOUS road. Good, not perfect pavement, lots of twisties but not as tight as the Gap, nice sweepers, usually little traffic. AND FREE BBQ IN FRANKLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
28 is a FABULOUS road. Good, not perfect pavement, lots of twisties but not as tight as the Gap, nice sweepers, usually little traffic. AND FREE BBQ IN FRANKLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now THATS a road. It is my FAVORITE road. I ride it on a scoot more than any other (helps its 2 miles from my house. Speaking of which, in the "Uro Builds a Workbench" thread there is one pic in my woodshop. On the wall is a "Bryson City Road" sign (another name for 28)the DOT tossed and I retrieved. Thats the only Road I'd want in my woodshop!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
OK fellas, I think we should just pack our lunches or maybe find a local McDonalds since there's obviously no local food in the region, huh? If only somebody would step up and offer some grub.... hmmmm...
http://www.fryemontinn.com/ http://www.oldedwardsinn.com/ Ok Jack Russell, I am all for fine dinning. Here are two of the best resturants in the area, on oposite ends of the map. Fryemont Inn is in Bryson City, right on the way to and on the way back, not more than 1/4 mile from 28. I have dined here and it is very good, and historic. Old Edwards Inn is in Highlands. If you have not been here, you must visit. It is on the other side of Franklin on 28, and this road is not bad at all. Very fun to drive. An Insurance Billionaire just dumped 60 Million into this Inn, with only 30 rooms. I stayed and dinned here on the way to the Dragon earilier this year. There are others, but these are the two I am familiar with. PS: If I can handle those bumpy roads in my Challenge, it is a piece of cake for anyone in a normal set up.
David - I was partially kidding. I'd like to stop at Uro's place and finally meet the legend himself. Heck, if we park 15 Ferraris at his house, he might actually get inspired to buy one himself. Nahhh....
I think you guys should eat at BoneFish Grill in Asheville...i wanna see that chick again. oh and the food was good too. jeremy and david remember that hahaha.
Okay Guys...What is the plan. How many Ferrari's? Anyone heading that way from Upstate SC? I always stay lost in a fog...Someone please fill me in!! Jay
I've heard more than 10 but it's been a while since I talked to someone about it. If I had my car I'd so be in on this
Jay you should come up friday mid-day David Scott and I plan to have lunch then. After that we'll go meet up with the other guys at the GP mid afternoon. Andy are you coming up? There are some good old fashioned burger joints at the dragon as long as they are open. We'll have to ask KillBoy or Uro about that.
Jeremy...I spoke with David last night. He filled me in on all of the "events". I can not make it Friday, however, I will be there around 7 AM Saturday. Sounds like a good time............................. Jay
