    Hi, the screw was half out when washing the tail lights.

    The lug the screw secures on totally disintegrated. In fact the one on the other side shows signs of expanding and splitting down the middle.

    I can think of a couple of nasty botch up jobs to glue in, but sought greater advice?

    Thanks Mel,

    It is a great thread.

    If I understand correctly, I can somehow (using 2 pack glue) build up a cylinder that can act as a lug, drill a small hole and that should do the job,

    Or I could drill into the holder and use a longer screw with a large type washer to protect the tail lamp?

    You can do both as long as the strength will not be too much; then it all brakes again.
