While going through the pouch containing the Boxer owner's manual, a handwritten note on a 3X5 card that just said "I'm sorry". OTOH, up front was both the little "briefcase" tool kit in the holder behind the headlight, and the toolroll hiding with the jack kit under the spare tire.
I found that the passenger side power seat didn't travel along the full length of the rail. Discovered that a G string got tangled on the rail. The previous owner was in his seventies.
I was kinda worried for a while that there was going to be some nasty surprise, but nothing ever materialized, thankfully. It was bought through Berlinetta Motorcars, so I didn't have direct contact with the PO. PO named "Sid" from somewhere in London? (though I don't think that Sid is nearly that old)
Anybody find this in their driver's seat? https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/michigan-man-finds-43k-donated-couch-returns-cash-previous-owner-n1118091 BTW, that is one outstanding man!
When I bought my First Ferrari - 85 -308 QV, about a year later I decided to re do some of the leather color - so took the center tunnel cover off.. found $100 bill under the ashtray area wedged in there.
Ferrari 550: 10 year old belts, but belt service was included in the sale. Passenger visor had the common droop. Some hack tried to fix it by gluing in a part. Still didn't work. Had to buy another visor on eBay for parts and sent everything to FerrariDriver to fix. Oil leak at bottom of oil tank. When I changed oil I got a new seal for the large hose. I discovered that the old seal was damaged and the hack didn't notice and re-used it. Tried to keep it from leaking by over-tightening. Steam coming out from coolant tank return line. Hose was overclamped until it cracked. I simply cut off 1/2 inch of the cracked hose, then re-installed.
Was it a white Mustang? Would that be considered riding around on the white pon...I'll show myself out
My 348 had an autopage car alarm. no pager fobs though... ripped all that out, patched up the hack job wiring, likely going to pull the stereo and re-do or just dump it. The ground for the stereo is 3 self drilling screws through the bulk head in the front trunk. The earliness of my 348 (august 1989 build) means it should have had a service bulletin performed on a timing drive bearing. it hadn't. There was a weird clutch noise. It seems the bolts holding the flywheel to the clutch had backed themselves out and were killing the inside of the bellhousing. sjd
I have all this equipment for G. Pepper’s car sitting in my store after he offered it up for free on this forum!
During the early 90s I bought a low-mileage '82 Mondial 8. Look awesome, ran very well and everything seemed to work, except... Found out that someone had snipped off most of the LEDs inside the Check Control Panel. No wonder the big red warning light stayed on (Item A). After testing/repairing each input/system I was finally able to see the red warning light go out and the Green one activated instead (Item C). Sadly, I was never was able to replace the LEDs, nor find a replacement for the Check Control Panel (this was pre-internet).
It was amazing. Over fifteen years of accumulated items, including a new radio head unit with a built-in, slide-out, flip-up screen that was also connected to a backup camera!
I had a 1996 300zx I was gonna put it into but ended up selling it before install. Now it’s going into a ski boat.
Two shotgun shells under the seat of a 911. Was kind of glad I didn't try to negotiate any harder with the owner.
Found a Miles Davis c.d. in the stereo in my mondial coupe. Also found a piece of wood in the console in the back seat which I left in it when I sold it. Had a 73 maverick that I bought back in the day for a winterbeater and it had girls phone numbers written on the drivers door.
