    I will never forget the 1989 pilots strike and having to catch a bus up to Cairns for a holiday and flying back in a RAAF transport plane,yep bunch of orseholes.

    Tough business. Huge capital invested. I am no supporter of overpaid bludging unionists who screw up my travel plans at the drop of a hat and the hold us all to ransom.

    Companies must be profitable otherwise they cannot conduct their business the way it has to be.

    Having said that, I still remember when Dixon ran QANTAS and all the board wanted to sell out to a Hedge Fund. Deal was scuppered when it became public that board members stood to personally be paid some $9m each if the deal went through.

    Dixon was on 10m when he finished - some say 12m
    Joyce @ 5m is um - less than what he was on as CEO for JetStar. Jet* is going very well and most flights are on time and arrive the day they are supposed to. Must be a crew issue.

    I think lawsuits and writs are being prepared as we post.

    I was reading the last few pages on the GG earlier. Gees it made me nostalgic. One of the things this last week has done, is build up an incredible amount of material for sledging and piss taking at the next GG.
