A member on LamboTalk found this company who makes button covers for sticky buttons on all Lamborghini models. Apparently these decals are the same size as the button so you simply apply it right over the sticky button and you now have a new looking button!

The member said they look and work like a new button with zero hassle.

The company makes these for all types of cars but I din't see any for Ferrari. I bet they would make them for Ferrari if someone asked.

Hope this helps some of you who have sticky buttons!

Seems kind of cool but I wonder what the quality is like and how the finish looks?

I'll order a set to check them out for giggles :)

Sounds like amateur hour to me.
If you have a high end exotic car why in the world would you cover up **** with ice cream??
Dave is a master at refinishing parts.
He refinished my parts parts for me. Do it once and do it right. Stop the cover up!!

Agree.....Dave is a master! But removing the parts, shipping them, reinstalling them and writing the check can be a real bummer! It certainly is not cheap to refinish. If the decal results in the exact same appearance, why not?

According to the Lambo guy, they work perfectly and are durable!

By the way....I have no horse in this race. I sold my 360 several years ago. I now have a newer Lambo Gallardo that has no sticky issues. I just remembered all the talk about sticky buttons on this forum when I had my 360 so I thought I'd help a guy out...that is all!

Thank you both for the compliments, I greatly appreciate it!

I will never deny it, our services are not short money as the time, materials and equipment are not cheap. To Dominic's point, our work is done right and everything will match. You won't be able to put a decal on a steering comumn surround - right?

I'm also a guy that loves technology so I'm interested in checking these out with an open mind as there may be something to learn. I will buy a set and report back with an unbiased review :)

    Hey Folks,

So I said that I would order one of these and check them out. I did order the R button decal for Lambo and it has shipped.

While I'm waiting, I did some research and the guy that makes these actually has a patent but I don't know if it's a utility or design patent (allow it does read like a utility). I've sent it to my attorney to review as what overlays for automotive interiors have been around for a long time and you can't patent prior art.

Also, here is the guys website: Shop Online

He has no before / after photos but he does have some on his Facebook page and the photos don't look great. He sent this email when shipping my button:

Thank you for your business. Your product has been shipped regular mail. Included is a general installation card. If you have questions please call the phone on the card. Something that might be helpful in your case, although not included on the instruction card, would be a black "paint pen" to outline the edge of the button before applying the ReNu product. They can be obtained at Hobby Lobby or Ace Hardware, there are several brands including "Elmers" And "Testors" and are very inexpensive. I believe you will be pleased with the results so please spread the word about us and like us on Facebook. CAUTION: YOUR PRODUCT IS BEING MAILED IN PLAIN WHITE BUSINESS ENVELOPE, HAND ADDRESSED: PLEASE INSPECT PRODUCTS FOR ACCURACY BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION.
    Pleasure serving you.

The jury is out - I'll report back but I'm less than optimistic of the quality :)

I can't imagine applying a decal over sticky, gooey crud over the buttons!!! I would not do that. I don't mind getting my hands dirty and went the DIY route and they cane out fine.

We don't use decal and will never. These are not meant to go over a sticky coating, of course that will need to be cleaned first.

I only purchased one to try as I'm going to review them with an open mind. I want to be clear to the folks reading this that Sticky RX has no plans to ever use these or any other decal.

And, I'm not trying to talk anyone out of our services but some my wish to try these if they look good. So, we will post some photos when this item comes. What this does seem to offer is a DIY solution where back lite graphics would still be present. Our process is done just like the OEM and that is not any type of stick on decal.

I should have these trial piece in a day or so to post a review.

I'm always perplexed by people who somehow buy an expensive exotic but then try to use the Honda maintenance model.

    Well folks,

So we received the Lambo R button decals today. The order was for one @ $39.00 but 2 actually came in the pack.

My review and my opinion, your mileage may vary :)

    Pros:

    - The decal material seems to be of a very nice quality material.
    - The black colors looks good
    - Looking under magnification, the decal has a minor texture and it gives it a paint like appearance

    Cons:

    - The decal is 2D (flat) so it won't wrap the edges of the button
    - If the button top is not flat, I struggle to see how this will contour a dome shaped button
    - The seller promotes using a Sharpe marker to outline the button in black

No idea how these will hold up over time, adhesive and the actual decal material.

The seller has an installation video and would probably be better off with a person that does not have long finger nails doing the install.

The video is password protect (if going through the manufactures site) and the password is "Control"

In my opinion, this might be an OK fix for a low end car but for an exotic, not a chance.

The manufacture did a decent job for what it is but bottom line, it's a band-aid.

Sticky RX will continue to properly restore interior parts with high end coatings and laser etching of all graphics. We will not be using or endorsing these or other decals.

    Best Regards,

    Dave

Wow, the video is very telling....did anyone notice that you must be very precise and careful with the knife to scrape the button? She repeatedly missed and damaged the chrome trim in the first example and nicked the black surround on the second example. The end result was less than satisfactory (in the light). It looked okay in the dark...where you cannot see or compare to the rest of the buttons...
