    W O W - great sound ! ! !

why the driver always is on the left lane???
in germany it is a law to drive on the right lane. so at this speed I not would go on the right lane with traffic like here, but to the center lane. it happens so often to me when I go with my tr competition more than 300 km/h that someone in front of me block the left lane even the center lane or the right lane is free. and it is against the law to pass on the right side. some cars are limited to 250 km/h and those drivers often think they are fast. once at a fuel station a BMW driver came to me and excused himself that he had not been on the center line when I came from behing. he only thaugt he is fast with 250 km/h and not looked in the rear mirror very often and he invited me for a coffee and we had a good conversation.

Amazing minute corrections to deal with curves. HOT!

I can imagine a smallish bird hitting the windshield

there is nothing like a Daytona at full chat. Notice the downshift and nail it at 130. All the needles
    stay the same.

Great video! Stable as a rock. That´s what the thing was made for.

200 km/h looks totally relaxed, with enough reserves in case you need to speed up a little bit.

It´s fifty years old and when I imagine how a period 911 drives at high speed - let alone that the Daytona shifts to fifth gear when the average 911 was at its limit - it is even more amazing how good this thing was in its day.

Would love to see a Miura doing the same.

It certainly does illustrate why a Daytona is a different sort of beast from a Dino, and why one might have a preference for the former, rather than the latter.

Of course, the fact that such videos are so unusual also illustrates why for daily driving that difference is not really "in play"...

Still, one can enjoy the engine-note (vid sure sounds just like I think it should), and it is satisfying that the potential is there.

While part of me would like to try and take my car up the top speed, in my old age, I'm not sure I have the nerve for it any more. Oh, and I'm sure that my better half would "not approve"... :)

Sadly my father lost his nerves when I was approaching 280 km/h (174 mph) in our BB two months ago...

Maybe I have to redo it next year and also make a Video :)

While exercising/road testing Daytonas at high, let alone top speeds for extended distances around here is getting nearly impossible, having had an opportunity with several*, I’ve always been amazed how stable they behave/feel, especially when suspension geometry, etc is well sorted.

*Have even captured onboard video footage with few, mainly for research documentation.

To show the difference between the vintage Ferraris and newer models, driving a 1998 Maranello at 160 mph was a piece of cake. Just for kicks, I decided to put both hands on the wheel. But the experience was nowhere as visceral as a Daytona. Watching that video reminded me of riding old Triumph motorcycles. Once you crossed the ton, the bike would send you messages such as your eyeballs becoming unfocused. These were the first safety devices.

    It’s totally true...

My “daily” is a 996 Turbo, and I’ve had both it and the Daytona up to similar speeds (though nothing what like you are talking about). The Daytona feels “solid as a rock”, but the 996 feels almost “casual”.

I think a large part of that is the noise level; blare of the V12, and the wind-noise of the body, make the Daytona feel like it is doing something more dangerous. But yeah, the Daytona is also nowhere as “smooth” in ride as the 996, and worm-or-no-worm, I feel like the steering on the Daytona feels more alive (or at least more sensitive to road imperfections).
