    "The Old Man" wore a pair of Dark Tinted Glasses for the rest of his life after Dino's death. Does anyone know what kind model they were? I know this is a strange question, but A relative of mine says he met Enzo in the mid 70's, and he wore similar glasses to his. Enzo actually started a conversation with him, because of the glasses he was wearing, something about a problem keeping them on his nose. My relative told me this story the other day, and I gained this curiosity.

    I don't suppose any of you will know...he doesn't know either, but still, it's worth posting

    Probably Persol. They were the favored shades among the rich and famous of the day. They're considered classic and collectible now, especially since Persol was taken over by Luxottica a few years ago and essentially homogenized with several other brands taken over by the same company.

    Jack The LAd, thanks! I've been doing some research, and I think they could well be persol. I'll let you know if I get anywhere..i was book searching for Biographies on enzo, but couldn't find them yet...

    They don't look vertically large enough to me. The specs (no pun intended) for that model could have changed over the decades.

    I haven't done any more "research" since my earlier posts, but I'm almost certain they were Persols. Just to update one of my posts, it now looks like Persol has gone back into production of some of its earlier vintage styles. So, toss those ugly sport glasses and "gitchu" some instant elegance with a pair of Persols.

    If you compare pics of Enzo and current styles of Persol's I think 2913/S looks the closest. Basing it on eyeglass shape and thickness of temples.

    best to hold off on any purchase of Persol sunglasses for now. It's a weak market and prices are tanking big time, depreciation will kill you.
